Yes, that Taylor Pass starts at Taylor Res.. right where we may be camping.
Several more in the area, including Pearl Pass that is highly recommended.

member MoFo has joined the group heading west. Doug has been out to Utah numerous times on his own and for the Fall Fling several times. I met Doug a few years ago at NAC-Fest and we got along well, we were hoping he would be able to join us for part of this trip.So, my permit for White Rim is filled. Doug's brother from SLC may join us at Lake Powell. Bryan (Swampman) and i will be leaving Doug and his brother when we run east into the Colorado part of the trip.
Theres some talk in PM about the possibility of running HITR as a large group with some UT locals, i think this is gonna become a priority for a few of us. :clap:
Were also hoping to make good time out there, without the need for vehicle repairs. which will give us a day or two to check out some of the local trails around Moab before we head into Canyonlands.
I'm super stoked that my trip to Utah is finally gonna happen this year. The possibility of meeting some of you guys out there is icing on the cake.

Mofo's brother has joined the group, he will be coming down from SLC. We attained another permit for WRT in Airport camp.. that opens up one at Murphy's again.
We also have a reservation at Devils Kitchen in Needles district now, we will run Elephant Hill and check out the Confluence and Chesler Park.
Ryan, it's not looking like we'll be seeing HITR as a group. I think Doug and his brother may head that way after Swampman and i head east into the San Juans.

I met Pat and Cindy in Yellowstone and again on the San Rafael swell when they were staying in Moab. Outstanding photographers and even more outstanding people. I wanted to do the White Rim with them then too.

I am adding an additional week to my trip. When Swampman and Mofo depart for home around the 15th i will drop my BIL off at Denver International. From there i have till the 19th to arrive in Medicine Bow Wyoming to meet my bud and spend 5 days on his property.
I'm looking to come back out of Denver heading to Boulder area. From here i'm looking for scenic routes up to Rocky Mountain National Park. I last saw the park in 98 and it was a rushed visit, i'd like to revisit and run the scenic dirt road within it. Then north again into Medicine Bow NF up to I-80.
Anyone have any input? I'd like scenic dirt roads with a few nice camp spots along the way.

I might run into you sometime 
My wife and I and a couple friends are planning a CO and UT trip for 4 weeks starting Sept 1. We're all from Alberta and have never been to either state (other then layovers on flights).
I have a quick question for those that live in the area or have spent time camping in either state. While my wife and I have a RTT, our friends don't. They are going to pitch their tent on the ground but they also want to try sleeping under the stars on nice nights. We do it all the time up here in the backcountry when we hike and pack ultralight, but we don't really have snakes/killer bugs up here that you might have down there. If they want to sleep without a shelter sometimes, would a bug net suffice or is it not really recommended down there at all?
I only ask because I have no idea what you guys have down there for creepy crawlies and things that like to cuddle with you in the night. Up here we really don't have much that can harm you (no snakes or spiders or scorpions or anything like that) the worst we have are mosquitoes... haha.
