Pismo run May 21-22

I'll likely show up Friday afternoon sometime. If I get there before everyone else I'll hang out near the entrance.

Gary, I'll bring a set of the door guards for you.

Is anyone from the Southbay going to Pismo? I have some control arms for ChuckD. I live in Fremont on Automall Pkwy, If someone can pick them up or I can meet up somewhere close that would be great.....Chuck said he would supply a beer for the delivery person :laugh3:
Right chuck?!?

How many of you are bringing your kids along? I am planning on bringing my tribe :looney:

Can you get them to Oakland or Scotts Valley (I think that is where it is) tomorrow? I am going wheeling this weekend and have a friend coming over that works/lives in those towns. If not, and you don't find anyone going to Pismo I will be in the bay area between 5/20 and 6/5, maybe I can meet up with you.

My friend from work, Chuck (was at Swamp last year with a black TJ) is bringing his TJ, quads, and kids.

We'll be there mid-afternoon on Friday.

Looks like we're going to have a good group........should be fun.

Cool, my boys are 10 and 7, and my babygirl is 5. It is always more fun for them if there are other kids around. That should help keep them of my leg. :laugh3:

We're going to look for a spot between mile marker 5 and 6, which is a little ways past the entrance to the sand highway. We'll be close to the beach, but far enough back so we don't risk getting wet at high tide.

Here's a map of Oceano Dunes SVRA. To get there, exit Hwy 101 at Grand Ave, go towards the beach and turn left at Hwy 1 (which is just past the railroad tracks). Turn right on Pier Ave which takes you to the beach. There is a booth where you pay the entry fee right before you go out onto the beach. Turn left on the beach and go down and cross the creek. Mile marker 1 is right after crossing the creek, the sand highway is between mile marker 4 and 5, and we'll try to be between mile marker 5 and 6.

Here's the tide chart for Friday. It's good for those of us getting there in the afternoon, with a low tide at 2:03 pm, but not so good for anyone towing in a trailer in the evening, with a good high tide at 8:31 pm. It's not an issue for anyone not towing an RV trailer, and still doable with a 4x4 tow rig with some air let out of the tires..

2:44:31 AM 0.65 Feet Low
8:35:16 AM 3.59 Feet High
2:03:41 PM 1.15 Feet Low
8:31:41 PM 5.36 Feet High

I'll have a NAXJA banner hanging on the side of the camper or trailer, and I'll be with two toyhouse trailers with quads. We're planning on a pot luck Sat evening. If the wind blows we'll have to play it by ear.

Oh, bring a little firewood if you can.

I got my light hooked up on my flag........now it just needs to be Friday.

I might try and make it!! but jsut with my Truck i don't think i want to drive my jeep 5 hrs on the highway with no doors???!!!

oops worng weekend nevermind!

I am officialy out. Too much to do & too little hours in the day... If anyones headed over from the central valley, I've got a case of assorted wine to send over. You guys have fun.

Matt

Excuses, excuses.
Your dad said you don't do shit around the farm anyway. :D

Too bad, Matt, we'll miss you.

BTW, I picked up an extra flag in case anyone doesn't have a chance to pick one up...$14. It bolts through a 1/2" hole, or just wire tie it to something.

We put the camper on today, we hope to be there around 6ish. Is the road pretty decent for tow rigs, or is there a road? :)

It's city streets right until you drop onto the beach, then there's a short section of soft stuff until you hit the wet sand of the beach. At lower tides there's plenty of hard, wet sand to drive on, but right at the very highest tides you have to drive on the soft stuff. Talked to a few who where there last weekend and it was a little chewed up, with a sort of berm near the creek where some people where getting stuck.....tow rigs and motorhomes.

You may need to be aired down to pull into the spot where we'll park, since it's all soft sand.

See you tommorow, :)
