ears are bent on the passenger side stub shaft, im gettin a shop to spread them back and install a u joint. ive got an older shaft with the smaller size ujoint in there now.

i say do tub doors... something higher off the floor than no doors but lower than half doors so you can weld them to the body but still get out of the jeep... like a wrangler without the doors... that way your legs are still protected from the outside but you have a fully open door and you can add the cage door bar right about where the top of the tub door would be so you cant see it easily... throw on some mirrors (just screw them to the fender) or get after market universals that you can mount to the pillar that just hang out alittle ... little bitty ones like on minis or old cars... that would be sweet.

yea, i plan on doin some kind of quarter doors welded in. this will serve as leg protection, help keep me in the jeep while im boucing around, and act as a door to help stiffen the unibody.

so you will not ever be putting the doors back on? does that make the xj a permanent trail toy? i like the option of still being able to put doors on for winter/rainy day wheelin.... oh well, it's your jeep...

...i know, you took the doors off because that was the only way you could get in the driver side, since the driver door is now missing a door handle :dunce:

...it's all good, lol i like the look of doorless... but you still need to lose the rear doors!

think i figured out the steering looseness...eric (trailratethis) put me on to it. track bar bracket bolts were a little loose, so i tightened em down and stitch welded it on. no more coming loose! friend came over an helped me adjust the draglink, so the steering wheels a lot closer to center, and i have about even turning to the right and left.

also, i took the fenders off, and removed the washer fluid resevoir and horns from there. i have another resevoir to mount in the engine, and the horns and vacuum ball will be relocated as well. the fenders I cut even higher (for the 4th time) and put a curve in them. I got the idea from Rredalty, i like how they look.
