My "Hero" Blog

Yeah pressure at the rail is usually around 40psi

I ended up following throught with the junkyard fuel line. I got a line with SS braided ends off of a 98 grand Cherokee with the 4.0. The line was a few inches longer but that was easy to tuck out of the way. Snapped right in and cost $6. Even better, picknpull was on my way to Ruffstuff so I onky lost a few minutes out of my day.

Well guys, I wasn't able to pull it off. I worked on it all the way through to Friday night. Had a bunch of my buddies working on different parts of it as well. Got it together and packed up and went for a spin around the block and my steering box sprung a huge leak. Tore the box apart and resealed it and drove it around the block again to see if it would hold fluid and quickly realized that my offset tie rod ends were interfering with my wheels. It seems I overlooked that part of the wj swap and need to purchase wheel spacers to get them to clear at lock. So we piled all my gear into my buddies rigs and hit the road for the con at 11:15 PM on Friday. Had a great time on the con and enjoyed beautiful weather other than a little bit of wind Saturday night. It sucked not having my jeep out there but I'm glad I didn't rush to finish the few things on my list. Now I have some more time to work out the other details I didn't have time to address.

Here's a shot of the first time the jeep sat on its own weight after the rebuild.

Now to fix a small list of things and maybe ill try to wheel it somewhere this upcoming weekend.

Glad you had fun!! Sucks not being in your own rig but thats ok. Speaking of not finished project, my d44 swap is still not done. I ended up breaking my pickle jar brake bleeder yesterday afternoon and stopped the swap. Also I need to sort out my ebrake cable situation.

Looks good kev. How do they not clear the wheels?

IIRC, he still has 15's, and probably too much back spacing. Usually an issue with the larger Offset TRE's . Larger wheels, or less BS are typically required.

Been a while since an update. Been slammed with school and haven't worked on the jeep much. I did however drive it up to the snow a few weekends ago to close up my family cabin and snapped a few pics.

It drives great. I'm very pleased so far. Needs new shocks and a new power steering box (have a new one sitting in the garage) and ill be happy.

In other news, I picked up these bad boys on thanksgiving.

They're 14" 2.5 remote reservoir King coilovers...

More on those bad boys later.

Thanks fellas! I'm itching to test it out in the rocks or trails of any of you are heading out somewhere.

Smokinu I actually just got a ticket for a busted tail light on Friday. What sides do you have?

So on those coilovers, they're actually not for the jeep. I'm building my 91 Ford Ranger into a prerunner so I can bomb around the desert with some buddies and chase for them when they race.

The Kings are valved and sprung for the front of a ford ranger prerunner, so that is where they are headed. I bought some forged ranger I-beams to cut, turn, and extend on half off day the other weekend and will start extending and boxing those in sometime after the semester ends. I'm planning on buying some air bumps this week, and am saving up for bypasses and springs for the rear right now.

Whenever I start building it, I can post pictures and stuff here too if you guys want. Not quite jeep stuff but fab is fab.

You know I'll be stoked to see the ranger progress. I might hit snow again this weekend. Let me know if you're game.

Dude I am shooting for snow too

As long as this storm coming in stays cold enough we should have plenty of pow pow to schred the gnar in.

Yeah I think I am more caught up on things. we still need to do your gears man.

I wanna see ranger updates! I miss mine

So I bought some Bilstein 2.0 4" travel air bumps for the ranger. 4.5" bulged fenders and a fiberglass hood are coming next week.

The nice thing on these is they take the same internals as kings. So all of my rebuild stuff so far will use King components.

Oh and as far as the jeep is concerned...
