My "Hero" Blog

Awesome kev!

Looks good man.

Thanks guys! It was down for too long for not enough work.

It seems I tore an O-Ring on the front cap of the steering box during reassembly and it leaks when under pressure. Gonna pull the box tonight and try to replace that o-ring, but I don't know where to get a replacement o-ring. Any recommendations? It's a big one, like 3 or 3.5" in diameter.

I also didn't replace my steering like I wanted to before I came home. So, that's on the list for this week.

SOMETIMES ace has that typa stuff, we can check the new one downtown tonight. And autozone might have a rebuild kit? Also should check monument, they have a lot of loose random parts in the back.

Happy birthday bro!

I know parts store carry the Motormite O-ring kit of sorts. Only a few dollars and the sizes vary a bit.

Are SS extended brake lines side specific? I was trying to install one side the other night and when the line end sat flat where it should be, the bolt wouldn't line up with the hole. There is a lip on the brake caliper that keeps the line end from sliding back far enough.

They're RE1550 brake lines from what I can tell.

At this rate I'm going to have to grind them down to get them to fit

Thanks door the offer josh but I'm building my own. The bore of the j20 box is too large and doesn't fit the stock spacer.

It's been a while since updates. I took it on the rubicon and broke a lot of things and it's been sitting ever since. I need to wrap up a few other projects before I can tear the jeep down again. Pics won't load right now so I'll entertain you all with pictures and a soup bowl video later.

I need new leaf springs. I've had less than a season on them (RE 3.5") and they're shot. I need recommendations though. I won't do RC and won't do RE again. Any recommendations? I'm looking at BDS springs with their mil-wrap and lifetime warranty, or deavers if they make a non-race pack. Any recommendations? I think I'll end up needing a 3.5" pack.

Additionally, I think I'm going to switch to no-lift shackle relocaters, and I'm definitely adding a fraction bar (the kit from Ruffstuff).

Input on springs would be greatly appreciated guys!

National or deaver or build a bastard pack

I cant add much, but once you get a traction bar you will break a lot less main leafs. Make sure the kit you are getting works for what you want. I cant find the picture right now, but there are like 8 different possible setups and each has their advantages/disadvantages.
