Jonand I Will Be In Slc Saturday. Let Me Know How It Goes On The 50. I've Never Been That way
I've been both, fuel costs less along 50, more scenic, road surface is smoother, shorter drive, speed limit's 65, safer-almost no traffic but the summits are about equal when you figure in hwy 6 from 15 to 70.

2 weeks 33 hours till we leave, I'm going 50, it's 65 miles & 22 minutes shorter. Since I set a speed limit for myself w/ my big rig of Duramax, camper, flatbed & Jeep of 65 & won't use the speed allowed on 80 anyway. Anyone leaving when I am, lets talk caravan from Carson City.

That's my thoughts on 50 as well. I drove it the other week (not towing) and the road surface was pretty good. Very little traffic. Diesel in Ely is cheaper than Reno. The only reason for me to take I-80 is if I am stopping overnight to visit some relatives. I don't know when exactly I'll be leaving but most likely I'll take 50 this time.

Anyone know if they fixed that long stretch in Western NV where the surface of I 80 was so rough it shakes everything off my dash? Passing lane was a little better but at 65mph I can't stay there. Dayton's always cheepest diesel, I get a little next in Ely, then best the Texaco in Scipio or in Salina before Moab. I check gasbuddy.com before I leave.

Ya, it's what I check before I go for fuel, I even set up the towns on my route when I travel & save a fav group. Then before I leave I ck it & save $20 on the trip, you wealthy workers under Obama don't have to do that but I'm retired & under his entitlement cuts from all I paid to SS & medicare so I have to watch it.

Say Hi at Slickrock, # 66. I save a gasbuddy.com local search as well as seperate searches for my usual trips, Moab, Sand Hollow, Buena Vista, Hammers & fav stations for each. I have fun planning my trips.

I bought 40 dollars in tickets, let me take it home. Wish I was going to MOAB with you all. In the next few years gonna have to go and spend atleast a week in MOAB.
Hope you all have a great time.

Will the closing of the National Parks effect Moab at all. Will they close the park so we can't use it.
