I agree that National should fork over some money for their event, however, its not gonna happen. So lets really look at it. There are not going to be a ton of people there on Tues night. Costs will be lower. At the MnG, there were a few members who said they would donate specifically for this event. Myself, Tom, Jeff and whoever else wants to donate for it is welcome to. Personally, I can make $120 at Costco go a long ways. Also, we will have a donation jar on the table as well. We will NOT provide alcohol from the chapter. Period. This money will be used for chips, dips, lil smokies, soda(store brand comes to mind! LOL), etc. I also think that other people will see the table and maybe contribute their own dip or whatever. I really think that maybe 60 people will be there that early. This can be done. With this event in our own back yard, the IC needs to be involved in some way, and the Hospitality night looks to be the easiest to do without cutting too much into the real reason we are down there. To go wheel! If after the Geostash is over and the dust settles and we end up not having the cash to accomplish this and Xmas Party in Dec. then I will just pony up more of my own cash for this to be successful. I have already notified Richard that I will be the point of contact on this. I am taking personal responsibility for this event. I appreciate all and any support from you guys, in any form. However, I will ask one thing right now. Please do not make anymore negative comments in the open forum. Our fundraising will be hard enough without the negativity. Those comments should be reserved for PMs and the BOD forum.
After the Geostash event in Aug., yes I will be asking more members to donate for this. Hopefully, we can use those donations for this and not have to take any $ out our account.
