Although it is a low possibility of knowing him, my father served on the Ranger from 65-68.

He was a machinist mate, steam technician if I remember properly.

NIIIICE... the F-106 was the THUD right?

or was that the 104?

Either way the Korea/vietnam era Aircraft have always been my favorites :)

I think it was the 104... either way.. cool
The F-105 Thunderchief was nicknamed "Thud". The F-104 was the Starfighter, and the F-106 was the "Delta Dart". It was a beautiful aircraft, and REALLY fast in it's day. The last year of production was 1960, and the latest we had at McChord were '59 models.
I can keep going... :laugh3:

Army
18 Years/SFC/E7
Started out in the 5th ID, Fort Polk, LA in 1987
Currently stationed in DC so I can be close to WRAMC.
Fighting medical retirement, for the second time, and winning! Thank God.
Probably not going to get my 1SG/MSG due to the medical crap and missing this war.
Want to get my full 20 at least.

I am an E-5 Active Duty Air Force. I'v been in for 6 years now and just today reenlisted for another 4 year. I spent a year in Texas, 4 years and 3 months in Germany, and now about a year in Cheyenne WY. I am a comm guy who runs fiber optics, LAN, and telephone cables (a.k.a "a Cable Dawg") I love it and I look forward to doing my 20.
