KM2's in Southeast mud

How has the experience with KM2's in this wonderful mud we have down here in the Southeast??
I'd rather get some swampers/IROK's, but to stay with a radial, they really don't make a good size for me. And, the current Claw's are too loud for long trips on the interstate....and we gotta drive to git to the trails!
Thanks!

if you mud alot.. the km2's dont do it.. get a swamper Truxxus mt or ssr or even swamper radial. For mud you cant beat a swamper!
KM2 do well in rocky terrains, some light muddin and sand, Snow they didnt grip much
This experience is with my rubicon..long wheel base xj's may be different.

Agreed with Mark... the KM2s are a great all around tire, and they do OK in the wonderful mud we have here, but if you are wanting a MUD tire, go with a swamper. I have the KM2s on my truck, and I love them. For something that's going to be dual purpose and see trail and street time, I would recommend the KM2 for just about everything, unless you are in deep gooey mud all of the time.

Mud is not a primary medium. Prefer rocks, but usually I've got to A) drive 1-3hrs to get to the trail, B) get through some mud on the way to or from the rocks, C) and enjoy a little mud play when the opportunity presents itself.

Currently running 35x12.50/15 and would prefer not to go larger. Ideally I'd like some IROK radial....but not 36 or 37's....I've had Radial Swamps before and would go there if they had a 35x12.50 but they don't.
Thanks for the input.:viking:

I was in some mud around Christmas, they did well. Motored right on through in 2wd, never felt like i was spinning or slowing down at all.

Interested in the claws...maybe....if they're still in great condition when you get rid of them.

You re right.. no tsl radials but the truxxus mt's come in 35

and the LTB's are now available in 35s

i had a set of SSR's and they were great

Had a friend with out of round issues with the Truxxus....LTB's are bias....and I've not heard good things about the SSR's sidewalls...although I gotta say I looked at their 35x10.50 with some interest...
I am disappointed with no TSL Radials. I had good luck with a set of those...and they were not loud. I'm really thinking KM2's, MTR's, or MTZ's to stick with a radial, and wanting more tolerable hum on the road. The Claws are really growling now that i've got most other sources of noise quieted up. Getting rid of the Flowmaster helped a ton!:eyes:

try the destination mt's? but you ll need 16's

yeh, I've browsed the different wheel sizes, and if I'm sticking to a 35" tire, 16's or 17's only seems to get me more expensive tires, in addition to the expense of a new set of wheels. :bawl: Not sure that's going in the correct direction.:D
I had a set of MOAB's, and did the spacer thing. But that is really why I got rid of them. Although, I saw a company is now making a MOAB knock off...but I didn't catch the backspacing.....good looking design:eyes:

I'm going with the KM2's basically because in order to get anything else it's going to be $250 per tire or more, and KM2's are $800 to the door.

I've looked at all of them and only found one person with anything bad to say about the KM2's and his bad thoughts may have been more of an unfortunate choice of line rather than the fault of the tire.

They were priced that way at discount tire direct. I was going to find the link and post it up but now they have gone to $213 shipped per tire or $852 for the set.

Should have pulled the trigger last month....oh well.

I thought I saw $180 ea at The Tire Rack.

Yeah but that's before shipping. Discount Tire was about $30 cheaper overall on the total to my door.

yeh, and Tire Rack has gone up to 193.....$896 to the door...

And don't forget, unless you have a buddy that has a tire changer and balancer, you are going to pay for mounting/balancing on top of the tires.

Dad runs km2s on his tj and they do great on road and off. Been wearing nice and even. run the km2s around 10-12psi and that's the sweet spot on the rocks
