ve6nn said:What time Saturday morning are you leaving the camp area. I plan on dropping by to spectate and maybe try some of the easier runs. Will be spending Friday night in a nearby motel someplace. Need to know what time I have to be at the assembly area to to on a run.
how long will a typical "run" take? What's a good estimate of time to get from camp, through a typical trail and back to camp (no breakage)?Goatman said:We plan on runs leaving at 8:00 am. The hardcore run will leave at 8:00, aired down and disconnected. The other runs could leave slightly later, depending on what the trail leaders think. Anyone who is driving out on Sat morning should plan to be there by 7:30, so there's time to prepare for the run, and figure out which one to go on.

good to know.Goatman said:No such thing, Brett. I've run Sledge, then run Jack, then played around on the competition rocks (and broke) and still got back to camp before 6:00. I've also run plenty of times and finished the trail in the dark. The trails change constantly, sometimes easier and sometimes harder, plus the number of rigs on the run, and how much breakage. We never leave camp later than 8:00, and many times a little earlier........you never know how the day will go.
Also, it will normally be cold in the morning, then could be short sleeve weather during the day, then the wind come up blowing through the canyon and get cold again, so wear layers.

I can see I have many misconceptions about the place; I was guessing it was just a few minutes from camp to the trails, then maybe an hour to do a trail.
Any anticipation of a night run? (purposefully, not from getting back late) I have some rock lights to install and need to decide how much of a priority
that is...
