JCR OffRoad

Under promise and over deliver.

My experience was more negative than positive. My bumper was a few weeks late. Could not get them on the phone. I personally did not know that they had a login that you could pm at the time, but I was pretty new to the NAXJA forum. My rear bumper fit poorly. I had to cut my rear tire carrier and tilt it out away from my deck lid so I could keep my bezel on the decklid. The tire carrier latch on the bumper side hit the decklid so I had to cut that so I could close my decklid. The main bolt holes that hold it on didn't line up, I could only get 2 or 3 in. I can't remember which. They also didn't send me my frame tie ins they sent me some pretty quickly.
When I did get a hold of them they said I could send it back, and they would fix it and I would get it back in a couple of weeks. I fixed it myself, because I didn't want to not have a rear bumper on for a couple of weeks. Front fit pretty well though.
The quailty of the welds and finish are very good.

Hm, mine was similar but not as bad. My front went on great. The rear I wasn't able to get 2 of the bolts. I haven't called them yet, will do soon.

I had the same poroblem. Was able to get 6 of the 8 bolts in. i think its a defect on the jeep itself becasue i sold it to another member and it bolted right up to his.

heh, you must have run with your doors off... you know how these things like to twist like a wet noodle right?:roflmao::farmer:

if I had an order late or delayed I'll be damn if I would tell the customer please be patient while I go out and have fun!!!

I wasn't trying to make it sound like that... Trust me, we aren't pushing deadlines because of personal projects. I made my first post in this thread at probably 11PM from the shop, I talked about what I was doing at the time (working on my rig) for nothing else but to have a conversation about everyone having deadlines... I don't even build bumpers, so it's really a non issue.

Like I told you on the phone, we are waiting on tire carrier spindles; it's not an issue of us not working on your bumper.

Every time I have to stop what I'm doing to answer the phone, I wish we had someone to answer it for us. (I'm sure Brian does also.) But 70% of phone calls involve product or general 4x4 knowledge that someone you pay minimum wage is not going to have.

For the others that have issues with our customer service, or our products; I am sorry. We really do the best we can to make people happy. When people make us aware of an issue we try and fix it to the best of our abilities. A lot of times fixing a problem takes even more time, and I know that can be frustrating.

every body needs personal time. and if he has issues with your service he should try nates 4x4 he would be on hold for ever let alone never talk to a person.

Not to be a flamer (in any fashion), but in any relationship, personal or professional, communication is key. End of story.

I have worked in small 4x4 shops for most of my career as a sysadmin/ counterperson/filing clerk, and numerous other duties unassociated with my career. Most the time I didn't make much money, but I enjoyed my work, my colleagues, and the benefits of having a full shop to work in....not to mention retailer discounts on parts. =)

Now I don't know about MI, but I can say that everywhere I've lived from CA to FL, there has always been young kids with skills in welding and wrenching and driving (and by young kids, I'm speaking of 15-18). It would not be unimaginable to hire someone like this that can offer some advice to customers, can take calls, can relay messages to pertinent individuals, etc. It may not save you a ton of time, but it will save you some time and improve customer service immensly.

I've never purchased any of your products, but most I know that have are quite happy with them. Frankly, I'd like to see your business thrive and prosper. Not just for your sake, but having a plethora of quality products is always nice as a consumer, not to mention competition tends to drive pricing to a more affordable rate. =)

Anywho, just my $0.02

Well....got my front bumper and it looks as though I will need to work on the welds to make it presentable. Grind the welds AND weld some open spots...dingleberry heaven on one side@
Can't wait for the nightmare to end!!!!

So lets see pics..I can't see them doing this, wait..YES i can, you jump on here like a little bitch, my but hurts..:rattle:They are to slow..
I waited a long time for my bumper, by the way this wasn't from JCR, it was another sponsor on here...I ended up going with JCR...Sometimes life sucks, so suck it up big boy, get over yourself...

Good luck with your bumpers, i know i would tell you to :gag:

I had a problem with rock sliders I ordered from them last summer. The product is great, but shipping was ridiculous. After two months of nothing I was promised two weeks tops. Five weeks after that, I finally had them.

its nice to see this has turned from a discussion to a flame war back and forth

OP if you have a problem with the product you received you need to talk to the company, coming here to further complain is pointless pot stirring. you do realize that JCRs products are all hand made, not pumped out en-masse by a machine, right?

Good point but i will be honest, being that im in the market for parts im leaning towards Aj's the more i read so it is worth something eh. I mean regaurdless of his attitude.

Scott, thanks for your helpful and insightful post...makes me feel some warm and fuzzy!
I will take pictures and post if someone tells me how. Can I post from Photobucket to this site?
Although I don't feel the need to prove these claims I will do so to make Scott feel validated! Pudd!
