Spring compressors are the devil!

The easiest way to get the spacers in is to pull the tires and remove the brake calipers, sway bar links and shocks. Drop the axle as low as possible while keeping the body really high on some jackstands. Then use an engine hoist to raise the front of the rig untill you can pull the coils out enough to slip the spacers in.

Frank, Frank, Frank. :nono:

You forgot the most important part to disconnect....... THE TRACKBAR. :twak:

Disconnect all those things Frank mentioned along with the trackbar at either end and the front will drop down as far as the control arms will allow it.

Did you have a bad experience with one in the past? :D

Last time I did exactly what you described, worked as planned until I swapped out bigger coils, then it was a pain. That wonderful coil compressor worked uber fast and didn't have to to disco the steering & trackbar. ........I also have longer upper bumpstops.

I have brake line disconnects on my XJ. Those damn brake lines were always holding me from full flex.
What about the torque shaft disconnect? ......eliminates the bind on the front driveshaft allowing even more flex?

So anybody consider meeting south Denver and caravan to the springs? ....off of I-25 I get myself totally lost in the springs, don't know what it is :)

I see Dutch, Stang, Yella, and myself all Metro area who else is in the metro area?

SurfXJSnow, If we knew where you lived it would help determine if we can help!! Location:Colorado is not very specific!! I live in Canon City, how close are ya? I can help ya with your angles and vibes but I need to know where ya are!

im in north colorado springs. :gee::gee:

Frack! (BSG fans will know what I am saying.)

My plans have been screwed..............20th is a bad time. Apparently the young man who we are going to take care of is probably not going to move in until the 20th........so instead of running this trail with you guys I am going to be moving boxes and furniture :rattle:

.........well have fun guys, enjoy the trail, the chedder brats, and Yella's noisy truggy :D................ I expect awesome pics and vids!

..........I am probably going to do something on Sunday the 21st closer to the Denver/Golden area (cheaper on gas) just cause wheeling time is drawer closer to down time and I need to get out!

I'm in Broomfield. How far is it from the end of the trail back to the trailhead and what type of road is it? My jeep is not licensed for the road and I really do not want to drive down a highway (very far) to get back to the trailer.

Can't go the 20th at all... HAZMAT day at school... poo

you should be fine, it's not that far, would be bettter probably to park the trailers at the end of the trail, then drive em to the trail head, it's on the way anyhow, you litterally drive right by it. If not, I can haul a group back to pick up trailers in my little heep.

if your pullin it with at least a V8 you can pull it all the way to the "pre-pond" parking area....most people that drive up their jeep usually disconnect and airdown here.....
its a dirt road all the way up...plates are "required" all the way up....i think its like 10 miles or so up to the trail head.....
im hopin for a lil rain a day or two before...even a light sprinkle...if not it will be a very dusty ride up....
