Important

Ok, so I thought the passenger side light I got for the trailer was bad, guess not. The parking lights light up(driver and passenger) and the brakes/turn signal on the drivers side work fine. With the parking lights off, I see a faint blink when the turn signal is on and when I puts the brake it faintly flashes a couple times and goes out completely. I'm at a loss. I ran new wiring on the trailer and bought new lights for it. They worked fine lady time I pulled a trailer with my Jeep...

Flexd'paging Ken Stein or other experienced individuals'XJ

If they are LEDs switch the two wires.

Same here. No license required to talk on that.

We are going down to the 700mhz soon (I think that's it) because 800mhz is going back to cell phones or tv or something...or its homeland security related.

I'd have more to comment, but I'm afraid people would start calling the FCC and telling.

mac 'other local businesses and wrecker companies use them too...legally? dunno' gyvr

Not quite the way it actually is...

The city or county has a license for you to use those 800mhz frequencies. Same for Byron. Why don't you need a personal license to use them?? You are operating under that license. As far as you only needing an hour class to operate the radio. That's between the license holder and you. You are operating under the terms of their license. Go off the rails one day and the license holder is on the hook for those actions.

Btw... looks like the license is through the county. 1500 mobile units on the license and 28 fixed stations. That's a crap load of units.

I guess I'm the less than a proud owner of a '05 Pontiac Aztek. It look weird on the outside and the inside. Just kind of an odd vehicle. But the price was pretty good and guy wanted it off his lot.

For a car that gets descent gas mileage, I would take one also. It also has quite a bit of cargo area.

those things are ugly...

no wonder they give them away...

mac 'you can never say anything bad about any of us again' gyvr

I have not....the other 4 vehicles here don't even have a hitch! :D I'm thinking it's the Jeep, I thought I had ruled that out but I guess not.

JR, I will do that.

Im not sure how your trailer wiring is set up on your jeep. Mine had an adapter the teed into the factory tailight connector. It ended up going bad and caused my tailights to go real dim and half of them worked and half didnt.

I may be your adapter

Aaron it sounds like your trailer is junk, they probably wouldn't even give you scrap value for it. But because I feel bad for you, I would be willing to pay $73 per ton for it. Or straight up trade for a Harbor Freight trailer.

I was thinking that as well, I took it out and checked the contacts and they all looked pretty good but looks can be decieving with that stuff. I just ordered one on Amazon, worst case scenario I have one for sale.

:roflmao: Yeah, I bet you would trade straight up!

Aaron, I'll give you $38.

Here's how I'd go about it. You can verify that everything is square on your Jeep with a voltmeter. Set to 20 volts DC range, put the black lead on the single vehicle-side pin (ground), turn on parking lamps and hazards and you should have a solid +12V on one of the "holes" and intermittent (blinking) +12V on the other two.

For the trailer side, if you have wire or long enough leads you can use the ohms setting on the meter to check resistance, but instead what I would do is grab a car battery and hook the negative up to the "hole" on the connector (white wire, ground), and touch a wire to each of the three pins. Have someone make sure that the lights are working. My best guess is that it is a problem with the light itself, but without data all you have is an opinion :D

Got more jeep parts today...
