No, no clicky, clicky. I did verify that the remote is good with my multimeter. I also beat the tar out of both solenoids with a screwdriver handle. That's as far as I got. I think they're just common solenoids that I can get locally. I'd really like to verify that one is bad before I take it apart. Looks like it'll be a PIA and I'm not sure on which pins do what on the solenoids.

They are common , BUT make sure you get the constant duty one for replacement.

On my Warn, one of the contacts in the socket for the remote somehow got pushed in, initially just enough for intermittent problems, then it got to the point that someone would need to push on the connection. A little dab of super glue and it's been fine since.

Today begins a new tire test. When the Ranger cam back from service on Friday it had brand new BFG Rugged Trails. I am thinking they were a little cheaper then the ATs it has gotten since birth....but its days are numbered so these will work. I will let you guys know how they do.

So far....they are really quiet, and seem to stick the curves better then the A/T.

I have Rugged Trails on my truck and I must say that I am not very impressed with their traction off of pavement. On pavement, they suck in the rain. They also do poorly on ice. My set had 23k on them when I first bought the truck and are ready to be replaced at 30k. Hopefully aren't as bad when newer or you wear them out before you actually need traction.

Geez.......

So, the neighbor's 93 ZJ has a bad front driveshaft. The tcase end C/V joint is completely shot, including the cast iron cage. First try, get a complete driveshaft from the local O'Reilly's.... it's for a 5.2l V8, it's about 4" too long (first real mistake they've had with me in 3 years.)

Second try... there's a clutch & u-joint shop half a mile from the office. I've been meaning to find an excuse to stop in there. "I need a lower u-joint and the entire c/v upper u-joint assembly for the front driveshaft on a 93 Grand Cherokee. How much?"

"Around two and a quarter."

For 1 standard, and 1 C/V joint, without installation? <slow burn> "Thanks, have a nice day."

Time to call one of the nice NAXJA vendors. What should have been a super easy sale has led to an irritated non-customer who's gonna remember this.

Damn Rev you got the shaft! Tell them to quit being so damn cheap! :D

Hopefully a new truck will happen before the tires get more then 20K on them....thats almost 4 months.

Before the snow flys would be nice....but hold my breath I won't.

I have the BFG Long Trails on my Comanche. Love them on road.
can't wear them out. I had them on my XJ when I went to Superlift off road and they pretty good off road. Never had a flat. great in rain on road.

1st bad sign.....

the Ford factory trac-loc causes them to squeal if you are on the gas around corners. I did not hear it during the day....but at midnight in a quiet area....sounded like bring your own sheep night.

Rev

Wow never heard that before we sell alot of them at my job

for some reason I envision Rev in his overalls (shirtless, just to scar everyones brain this morning) w/ a stogey hanging out of his mug and having that Ranger rapping out the rpm's while he is drifting around the corner...that might be why they were squealing :dunno:

fixed :D

It's a debit card, I use it for everything, so I'm certain the card still works. I suppose maybe I mistyped the number or the expiration, but it seems unlikely since I order stuff online all the time.

Maybe they deal with a lot of sketchy customers who get their cards declined, I'm just pissed that they never thought to call me and let me know, if I had known 8 days ago I would have been glad to verify the info with them. So now I have 8 days to get axle beams before I go to Harlan. Nothing like waiting till the last minute...

(waiting for a "Post the card number and expiration date here and we'll check it for you" post) :D

The amount (may have been over your limit) or other recent purchases may have triggered a fraud alert. I would check with your bank to be sure.

Can you tell I work at a bank??

Susie

Good call Susie! We've ran into that several times when we make a big purchase. I think ours had a $500/day limit on our debit card.
