All them hot little college girls got you all flustered didn't they. Poor Camille!

On a completely unrelated note, I am going back to first shift in a couple weeks. I hate second shift!

Off sick leave...

Filled the YJ up today...

17.1 mpg...pretty happy with that, mix of mostly city with a bit of hwy, 4.0 5sp and 3.07s gears 140k who knows when the last tune up was...

mac 'never had any of my xj's break 15mpg' gyvr
MJ gets 23mpg if I granny-drive it :yelclap: 55-65mph all the way back from NACFest with 1400lbs of stuff in the back, calculated via odometer (my speedo is within 0.1mph of correct) and amount added to tank for a complete fillup. The 98 gets decent mileage in the 16-18 range depending on how much I'm enjoying the manumatic, and the 96 gets lousy mileage due to 33s, a heavy right foot, and stock gearing.

this was stolen from another Jeep site....too funny.

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.

While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: "Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call."
hahaha that's awesome.

just installed a powertrax locker in my buddys ranger.....on the sidewalk in front of the apartment. the neighbors hate us.
my neighbors at the last place hated me and made my landlord's life difficult with all their complaining and threatening to move out, I now live in the ghetto and repair my vehicles in the same parking lot my neighbors do. The parking lot for the apartment complex has signs and cameras up but the empty parking lot next to the bulldozed hotel has no cameras, no signs, no nothing... the city is using it to store large piles of construction debris and no one cares as long as we don't spill fluids everywhere and clean up after ourselves.

years ago when I lived in an apartment, I blew my engine on a 1980 Chevy Citation. We put it on jack stands and changed the engine from a junkyard. dang it, forgot to clean the oil pan real good. blew the engine again in a few weeks. Back up on jacks and changed the engine..again! Then the landlord came by. too late. :moon:

ive torn apart the front end in the parking lot before but never an engine... i used to park it so it faced the building so if i didnt finish the landlord couldnt see it ;)

My last place it was kinda amusing... landlord lived on the first floor, pain in the ass neighbors on the second floor, me on the third floor. I swapped a front axle in the MJ in the driveway, the landlord would come home (70 year old lady) and go "hey Ken, how's it going, what are you working on today?" She thought it was pretty amusing and was impressed by how much I managed to get done, and I was usually fixing something or other for her at least once a month... computers, random small property repairs, etc. The neighbors on the other hand did not like the "ugly" stuff I kept doing and basically hated life so they took it out on me, even when I was very careful to not make noise past 9pm, etc etc. For about a year it went fine because they hated the next door neighbors with the loud music and parties more, but then those neighbors got evicted after their landlord stopped making mortgage payments and the place was foreclosed, and I became the next most interesting thing to hate and whine about.

While I was still residing outside of Chicago in an apartment, and the Jeep lived in a garage, there was a "no maintenance" clause in my lease. Management know what I did, and liked having me as a tenant, I'd work on their vehicles from time to time, or diagnose something.

we actually live in a small house. i dont mind doing stuff in the street once in a while. at home we got a 14 car garage but its full of antique farmalls. at the last house my roomates and i had a 4wheeler, a mini bike, and a snowmobile.....in the living room. in a few weeks i might put my 71 triumph bonnevile in my room and get it running. the landlord gets pissed, but he dont care as long as me dont ruin the carpet.

Just don't try and rebuild a big block V8 in the living room, I hear they don't fit out the damn door after you get the heads and valve covers on :roflmao:

I've heard stories of this type, but never really done much myself beyond changing a head gasket in my driveway. But, before I became an auto tech and was considering tech school, one of the schools I was looking into had a couple people come to my career center and talk about their tech school. They had said a couple of the kids in one of their auto trans classes rebuilt a 4L60 in their dorm room bathtub. They got in a bit of trouble. My dad lived in L.A. County in a set of projects before he joined the Marines and rebuilt a '64 Mustang 289 in the parking lot. Pulled the crank assembly right out the bottom between the frames. This was back in '73 or so plus in the projects...nobody gave a damn.

renting right now.... buying is in the 5 year plan once im outta school... gotta start figuring out the job market and whether i need to start preparing elsewhere or if the company im with now is gonna think im worth it to them with a college degree..... ive been with them for 4 years and have way more experience than most of my fellow management, i havent really been pushing their buttons about moving up since a) i dont know if i want to stay with it and b) a full time student really doesnt have time to budget for more work and messed up hours (nights weekends holidays etc).... our owner really likes me and i grew up with his kids so that might play in my favor but we'll see

Bout all I ever did in Houghton was change a fuel pump, and install a locker and change oil. Though I kept all the parts for the lift I have now in my room waiting for a chance to install them. I have a smaller place in Stevens Point, I've changed the oil, distributor, installed wheel spacers in the lot. In my apt I have two bikes and even more jeep parts, both no-no's.

Just because I want to stay on the land managers good side I play it safe.

Jeff, you were gonna be up north next weekend?

Got a few things to do, like put a front d/s in, put the belly skid back on, and mount 4 new anchor points on the trailer.

just got a powertrax locker for the rear

Only 7-1/2 hr's to go and im on vacation, this day is draging more ass than a fat 10yr old on a mini horse

Jeeps going under the knife this weekend. Possibly leaking headgasket. All signs point to leaky headgasket. Going to check compression for final assurance then tear the head off. Hope its not cracked.

I got 22 when I wet to flatnasty for WF, that was with a 1k lbs of camping gear and swampers in te back end, plus a bumper and some other crap. It was stuffed full.

31's/3.55s and a 5 spd. were good for that.
