GUNS & AMMO

Why cant you? Its legal in CO for now. Right????

Because he'd wanna wear matching ass-less chaps ........ And he knows the kind of attention that draws. :nono:

that is not a bar. that is the counter at a diner. by you calling it a "bar" people automatically think booze. this is not booze. this is bad breakfast.

Yeah I know what you mean........ Like when I saw your screen name I initially figured you for a Satan worshiper.....

They're called bar stools for a reason. They're not called counter stools or diner stools.....

Regardless, the guy's gun is carelessly exposed in my humble opinion. Care to get back to gun talk? Or keep this silly hijack on restaurant furnishings rolling?

Yes, I could legally open carry in such a manner. I don't out of respect for those that would be bothered by it. Not everyone that fears or dislikes guns is against our right to have them, why create a situation that pushes them to that extreme or fuels the fires of the idiots who already are.

I uphold that we should go back to the Old West days and open carry 24/7. The only things I would change is that you couldn't carry while drinking. Cops could ticket people with a CUI (carrying while under the influence) and I would still want background checks prior to purchase. While I believe that everyone has the right to own a gun and be able to protect themselves, I do feel that not everyone is responsible enough to do so.

Aren't all chaps ass-less by design? If they weren't wouldn't they just be pants?

Troy, while I agree that his choice of seat and or holster is not the best.

Is his seat or holster illegal? If not? Why all the fuss.

From my observation Open Carriers are the loud drama queens of the gun owning world. When they Open Carry for a Cause they tend to lose sight of when they should stop and cause trouble, i.e. before they started carrying their cross unloaded open carry was nearly universally legal in California; thanks to the OC/UOC "movement" it is now off the table in a large portion of the state. Thanks guys, you removed on legal way I could carry a gun if I were to ever get in a bind.

In some cases that may be true, but I know plenty of people that have open carried for years before the latest flap over firearms got turned into a "movement" by the lib's. They aren't out looking for trouble or a soapbox. They simply choose to take responsibility for their own safety and that of their family.

Yes there most certainly are those that carry to incite or elicit a response, hopefully those folks find a new cause to get behind.

I open carry when I'm wheeling/camping, just not in town. When I'm out in the woods I'm very unlikely to come across somebody that would be upset by my carrying of a firearm, and if the one hippy I do run into is offended they can **** off and hug a tree far enough away to not see my pistol.

Where I live I don't feel a need to always have a handgun on me for personal protection, hell in all honesty I don't feel a need for it anywhere in Denver I'm likely to go. When I'm in the woods I feel a need to be able to protect myself from wild life and crazies alike.

Same here. Typically the predators on 2 legs concern me more than the ones on 4 legs.

This is pretty much exactly me. I'm glad it's legal though because while out in the woods I've been known to frequent a gas station or small store. Again...nobody in a place like that is going to care.

Nothing I said spoke on the legality/illegality of any of it ...... In fact I supported it.

I was speaking to my concerns about being smart about open carrying ..... And that I feel the photo shows a guy being.... In my opinion.... Unsafe. And additionally, being careless while possibly advertising that he's exercising his 2nd amendment right. Assumption? Yep. But you wouldn't see me carrying like that.

I feel ya. I think we could pick apart a lot of people who are carrying or doing something else.
I just don't like them trying to make the act evil.

Indeed. Folks need to get over the "alarm" of open carrying and focus more on educating their kids about guns, the 2nd amendment and how it's all coming around full circle to the foundation of our Country. Make it educational.

Unfortunately, there are those that would make it look as if they're carrying a gun for all the wrong reasons...... I think I posted up about this a while back, but I saw one young guy at a Discount Tire waiting for some tire work I'm guessing, but he was pacing around his lifted Ford hick truck complete with big American flag and Confederate flag on poles in the bed. He was proudly displaying his large frame black semi-auto handgun...... simply pinched on his hip between his pants and belt.... no holster. He was constantly adjusting it, moving it, keeping it from falling out........ retard.

GUNS & AMMO

Happened to be back in the Buckley area and wound up taking this guy home.

I'm excited to see how .45 shoots out of such a small gun.

if its anything like my G30, you'll be surprised at the relative lack of recoil...

I'm actually contemplating trading my XDM .45 Compact for a full size now that I have the XDS.

When I first started dating my baby mama, she didn't understand why I had a gun and even further why I wanted to carry it. Her first argument was "If someone carries a gun, they're more likely to use it illegally."

After she was introduced to guns appropriately i.e. not just seeing me carry or holding my empty weapon, she started to come around and fell in love with plinking. Since I'm from Indiana and we live in Green Bay, we have had times traveling with our son back and forth that she and I both would have felt more comfortable if I could carry in Chicago. We had a creepy dude eye-balling her and our son once and I kept my head on a swivel when we made our way back to the Jeep. She now understands what I meant when I said "I'd rather have a gun and never need it than to need one and not have it."

On another note, who reloads? I'm looking into it and doing research (waiting on a reloading manual) and I've come across some interesting bits on primer choice in .40S&W. Something about piercing primers and the 1.5s shouldn't be used in .40 but rather 5.5s. Should/can I use 5.5s in both .40 and 9mm? Is the CCI 500 the same as the 5.5?
