Makomyday Sweet. Fireworks ok? Bombs?

What about my baby sitter from Juanajuato Mexico she is a bombshell, illegal, sweet and can cause fireworks to spontaneously ignite! Sorry seriously though will try to make it. Where is the camp going to be north side of lake or near Boone?

be advised we're on the border of a military base that is drooling at the chance to drop their own bombs on this exact area :D

if it's louder than a shotgun leave it at home, and if its almost as loud blow it up somewhere outside of camp, this ain't that kind of weekend ;)

I got bored at work last week and made this. Missing a few trails like Outer Limits and probably a few others.

*which I now realize are pretty much unreadable when the file size is dumbed down, but it looked good in Google Earth.

I don't know about google earth, however on google maps you can do that save it and then share the link. I did it for a road trip once.

so i've been watching youtube videos and looking at pics trying to get an idea of the terrain and difficulty. not really afraid of body damage, but i dont want to roll or flop hard (no cage yet). nor do i want to break shafts (d44's, chromoly, spicer 760's).
what trails are good for a rig like mine? (35's, 5" lift, locked f&r) i'd like to find some videos or pics of trails i'll likely be doing.

Okay, I have a question, but a little back ground 1st! I was at the races 3 years ago but couldn't get in close enough to the trails to view any changes or level of difficulty. I ran them in 93-94-95 and have not been back to run them since. I was in my 85 XJ with 35's and a V8 auto locked Ford 9"s front and rear, 4.56 and a Dana 20 t-case which was a Ford with the 2.46 gearing. My question is , if any one ran them in the early days, is how much have they changed? From what I remember it wasn't some much rolling as it was flopping! * Nice maps too Lurch if you do "G" Earth I'd like a copy*

JV trails change all the time. They see alot of traffic these days and that causes changes in rock formations and lines. Some people stack and dont unstack and in some cases buggies tear up trails so hard it makes it impassable for a guy on 36's ;)

Ive ran Sledgehammer 4 times in 2 years and every single time its gotten harder.

Sledge got easier as of late but in April it was way messed up; the worst I have ever seen it. VV4W cleaned up Sledge a few weeks ago for their Rocktoberfest.

Trails have changed significantly over the years. Large tires and big horsepower alter the trails DAILY.

If you are a newb, stick with something basic like Claw or Aftershock or just walk the trail to see the other guys try to get through.

Vanimal, you should look for Bloody Mary on You-Tube. It is called that because it is joked that one would need a shot of Vodka and a V8 to even consider attempting it.

Dan would run it sober...

I can send the Google Earth .kmz file to anyone who wants it if you PM me your email. I get an 'Invalid File' notice when I try to attach it to a post.

Oh and I'll be attempting Claw and LBJ(maybe) on this trip - locked up on 33's and chromos.

i've been watching some videos of sledge, some seem like i shouldnt have any issues, some look somewhat gnarly, but it almost looks like people are going out of their way to take crazy lines in those. i'll have to wait and check it out in person i guess.

think i'll pass on bloody mary hill :D

That is a darn beefy setup. Just put the skinny pedal to the floor and keep turning the wheel.

Just have Cal spot you in the tricky parts and you'll be fine.
