D60 Install

Ty, I picked up some reman. calipers this afternoon. I have to figure out my front brake lines since the yj lines will not work. I also have to figure out what rim centers to use on the h1 rims. I got it all painted today too. Well sort of. LOL! I'll post some more up tomorrow hopefully of it on jack stands under the jeep. I have to start working on the track bar and see what it will take to make it work. The Ballistic Fab bracket I got will not work with the small JJ I had on mine. I'll probably call them and suggest they make that bracket in another version that will handle the little JJ's that Currie makes for TB's now..

Ok this is what I will be trying. It will accept the factory xj hard line in the top and then bolt into the factory ford line.

Painted all the brackets Sunday and scratched them all up on Monday! LOL!

Rims: Not sure what I'm doing here. I apparently did not get all the runflat/beadlock.

So if you have any suggestions on the H1 problem please post up. I need a source for the rest of the internal beadlock for the H1s.

Three options for the beadlocks issue:
1) Dean Read's steel beadlocks - I've got them and they are super easy to install. Link Edit: Ouch, looks like these went way up in price since I got mine.
2) Stazworks has a HDPE insert. Link
3) 406YJ sells stock ones cheap on the PBB. Link

Bumpstop idea. Cheap, strong, and effective.

Yeah, but you still have the stock bumpstop. :D

I'd grind that lip off from around the end of the bumpstop can before putting it all back together. It'll keep the coil from snagging on it.

I'd put an extended one in there. I don't have the $$$ for the bling that you over paid cali guys can get. :) Are you refering to the lip that is on the bottom edge where the bumpstop is pressed into? Hadn't really thought about that. I'm also working on the H1 Beadlock issues with a guy on pirate that deals with them.

Tires have arrived! Waiting on BF High steer arm and Heims for the fun to begin!

I might have to cut some.

Nice build man. Wish I could have found a 60 front around here.

Tires look awesome.

Hopefully your parts from BF come soon, it took 30 days for my steering parts to come from them.

Any plans for full hydro or assist steering?

Yes Hydro assist. I have it all here just have to put some seals in the box. Cannot really do anything till the rest of the axle is in there. I'll be calling BF to check on the order today. TY for the heads up.

Had a mechanic friend come by to use the chop saw to build his DS for his mj. He was like hey lets mount two up and see what you gotta cut. Would not go on at all the right way so we threw them on backwards for s@#$%^ and giggles.

Those things are huge. Lookout Morris Mountain!

Ok got the bump stop somewhat worked out. Had to put some 1.5 tube inside to extend it enough to keep the shock from being the bump stop.

I have approximately 3" of up travel and should have around 11" of down travel. Not sure how this is going to work.

Cut the rear shock mounts off and welded one back on. It is very difficult to do with the axle in. Something we missed when Andy was here with the plasma!

I did get the springs in the front and the jeep is sitting at about ride height.

Had plans to get the Track bar in but the wrong heim was shipped from Ballistic. They are sent a new one out Friday. Friday I ordered the centers for the H1's. I am hoping for a completion and a test drive in the next two weeks, maybe 3. I still have to check out the rear brakes and redo some plumbing on the rear axle. I also have to install the front brakes and plumb them. High steer arm should be here this week. Once I get it on all fours I'll start the Hydro-assist part of the project. :eye:

Looks like you have plenty of room to move your lower shock mounts down. You won't like only 3" of up travel, and you can't use 11" of down travel.

I'll bet you'll be glad when you can drive it. :)

Yea I am kinda conserned about it but It is really close to what I had on the 9"/D44 that was in there. I am considering BrianHo's shackle kit for the rear and maybe a small spacer up front. We shall see. I cannot wait to drive it even if its jsut to the rock pile out back.

So um you should never um cut or weld on any shock..... with that said

take your hehe.... shock out of the front... hehe and um unbolt the the stud eliminator, extend the shock fully and cut the eyelet off the top of the shaft, find a grade 8 3/8" or bigger bolt about 2" long and weld the bastard to the top of your shaft...... he he. Ok now find some proper washers and bushings... re attach through factory shock mount. now you have 5 inches of up travel.

I know everyone is going to hate this idea dude but it works ive done it so many times when guys wont pay for the right shocks and bring some old long ranchos or something and are like these will work right??? dur dur dur. in this case u can fix stupid. (not calling you stupid.) just old :-)
your track bar is finished im shipping it to you today
