Custom Rock Sliders

i'm starting to build rock sliders for my xj im using 1x3" (maybe 2x4?)rectangle metal for the actual slider, i was wondering what people did for the pinch seam. i was thinking about just beating it flat, maybe put a few welds on it to hold it still and then put the slider flush to the rocker panel for better weight distribution when resting on it.

Most folks bolt the slider to the pinch seam.

sliders youll want to bolt to the pinch seam.

2x6 rocker replacement youll want to cut everything out , plate , and built legs to the frame rails.
