Couple runs coming up

Whenever Lou gets there. If he is leaving at 7pm i would imagine maybe 11pm?

I will probably be up there between 6pm and 10pm thurs and will just hang out at the trail head and maybe fish at loon.

Im off thurs/Fri and can take Sat off but I'm stuck having to work sunday.
I haven't made this run yet, not super familiar with the area would there be an issue leaving Sat evening?

Ill be having to leave sat night as well. Just found out i have a gig sunday morning. We can role out togeather Doc

Sounds like a plan. I'm definitely in as long as my time off request is approved:clap:

I am a for sure go for the rubicon now. Just have a small list to take care of and prep wilbur.

Hatch struts
rear seat storage platform
constant power for fridge
mount fridge
Rebuild Crappy Rough Country arms again
Figure out a tent situation. Dont want to bring out 8person for just me.
Gather spares and tools.
possible new gas tank and tomken skid

Really wish wilbur had a tire carrier. Still debating on tackling that.

I ended up buying currie johnnie joint to replace the crappy rough country joints. more expensive, but they wont be falling apart all the time on you.

amazon is good for tents. and gas tank:

tank for 110$ shipped:

Daves offroad hooked it up with the 2" wide 3/4" RHT UCA johhnie joints for 50$ each shipped. I am not sure about the lower joints.
I would put the fridge on the bottom of the list since its not mandatory to drive. the gas tank sounds a little more serious though.

Gas tank is lowest on the list. Its been running as is for a few years now. I have a replacement tank already. I may get it done.

I just ordered bushings from ruffstuff to replace the nolonger manufactured roughcountry bushings. And also ordered new joints from rough country as they no longer support the snap ring style joint. Should all be in this week.

I have a two person tent i can squeeze into dont even think my mat will fit. Might try to find a 3 person.

There a guy here in SJ parting out his rig on CL, his rear tire carrier seemed like it mounted really well to the frame rails

Rubicon This thursday night:
Lou
Gordon
Doc Moe
me

Fordyce :
the weekend after,
seems like a no go as of now - which is fine.
I might just change this to Niagara rim and bring the MJ.
I have no intentions of running fordyce alone.

Really stoked to do this run next week. I need it.

Got my fridge mount built. Got a few more holes to drill but really stoked. Need to run power but thats easy.

Power steering pump swapped last weekend. Turns like butter.

Been waiting three weeks to get all the parts to rebuild the lower control arms. Six shipments of wrong and missing parts. Last piece should arrive today and 70$ later they will be back under the jeep.
Rough country sucks. Just plain and simple. For those that have the old style arms with the small axle end bushings, i got my replacements from ruff stuff. Their 2 5/8s poly bushing fits perfectly. The sleeve is 1 1/2 id.
They no longer make the bushings for the snap ring joint end so i bought their new adjustable joints.

Gonna push the axle forward about an inch when i throw it all back together. And pull the blown out steering staybilizer.

Gonna pickup some new hatch struts this week and check the fluids and an oil change and im gtg.

I will be bringing oscar our lab

Rubicon is going to be awesome.

We will see about fordyce since I love that trail

So, how late of a start are you getting going in on Thursday and how far in will you be going. I was thinking of going up Friday morning but might be able to head up Thursday instead. I was just hoping to see the sights on my first trip through the Rubicon, hence the Friday morning thinking. Either way I still plan to be up there.
