Ok, so I tried to use the off-topic/non-tech forum, and yeah, my thread was deleted. Also, I have been dissabled from posting on that message board. I do not appreciate this, and I sent an email to you. I hope for a response.

Its quite simple. Don't bring up religion and they won't delete your posts.
There are some of us(religious and not) that don't think that NAXJA is the right place to bring it up.
Leave it in church or with someone who relates to it and you and you will never have a problem

I think you know why your post was removed. You have been here long enough to know where Religious threads end up... full of flames etc.... It was removed. Live and learn.

As for being disabled from posting..... NOT. Nobody here has altered your permissions. A thread was simply removed. Your account was not changed. Your allegation is certainly not appreciated.

BTW: Crying "censorship" will not get you very far. This is not a Govt. owned, operpated or regulated web site. Congress has not censored you. But you are free to read the Constitution, look at the big picture, then re-think your "censorship" stance. :)

Codeman, it's just not the right place. It doesn't mean that this site is anti-faith. Religion is the kind of topic that just doesn't go over well, and many people get offended quite easily when it is discussed.

Hey bud, don't take it personal ... as an old boss used to say: "its an emotional issue---forget about it and move on."

A very successful and wise MIT graduate ... he kicked my butt a few times until I finally learned.

Take care of yourself.

yeah, ok- I didn't realize that I was in the middle of changing some account info when I tried to post, and because I hadn't finished it I was unable, so yeah, I can post- my bad.

But...why can't those who either don't want to hear about it, or dissagree with it just not read or respond to it? Maybe its not ment for them? I cannot leave God at church...sorry- that's not how it works. He is more important than my jeep. Now if people can talk about stuff that is not so (faith) friendly, then why can't I try to initiate some conversation with some of those who love God, and have a relationship with him? What is everyone so scared about? Are you afraid that Christians are going to take over? because that is ridiculous.

They are trying to prevent personal attacks based on your beliefs. Thankfully, on the flipside, any anti religious posts or derogatory comments about jesus should be deleted also. Right!?

I'll give you more insight then I will go away quietly because I don't want to overstep my boundaries here.

Religion is a personal belief system and this Web site was created by a group of people that are passionate about XJs---and it doesn't include ANY of their personal religious beliefs. They had respect enough for you, and others, to not influence or try to convert your wife or kid to their own religious beliefs.... if they did, would you have joined or allowed your kid to join ?

Don't answer that... because my instincts and experiences are telling me that you probably would insist on coming here to witness anyway ...

...kinda like what you're doing now in this thread.

Take this friendly advice ... don't leave tracks everywhere you go because you're trespassing against others.... and you know what God says about that.

Like I said, its an emotional issue, move on.

As has been siad, just let it alone.

And as Jeeplas said, if religious threads/posts are deleted, shouldnt the anti-religious posts/threads be deleted too....yeah right.

Fergie

PS- Keeping both sides out is the best answer, and I think that it is being done correctly.

i fixed the part you forgot.

humbly yours,

rabbi.

like they said...YHWH doesn't want to be here either...(inside knowledge)

gramatical errors left in for affect.

My example of how to mix religion and Jeeps...

Several years ago, early in my XJ ownership history, I tried to part a mudhole like the Red Sea... one 4.0 shortblock later, I realized that although Moses & I share the same Hebrew name, I lacked his hydrodynamic abilities.

Here's my ideas about Jeeps & Religion

"A Catholic and a Jew meet up with identical XJ's at the trail head one day.. etc...etc...etc...." :laugh3:

The moral of the story.... BOTH topics must be treated with respect and a light heart, like in any good joke.

In the immortal words of Sargeant Hulka..... "Lighten Up Francis."

i found better with this. If i remember LC I don't think they were "HIS" Hydrodynamic abillities.

But I digress...we shouldn't be going down this road. Albeit the scenery is nice.

About religion not being a part of this forumn I disagree...many of you don't like religion thats alright .....but your form of religion is your jeep, (not throwing flaming arrows just another insight) You put time, passion, energy, money, get your friends together and have wrench fests, take your kids with you on the trail, try to get as many as possible involved in the sport(at least I do) the church I go to is a lot the same....families go there, spend time with friends, put energy into helping each other out, put passion to God, and try and tell their friends about it. Long Story short, Everyone has that one thing that is "LIFE" to them, whatever it is...I feel as if adults should be able to discuss this, but on the other hand if this site doesn't welcome this talk...no big deal...I will do my part to try and be respectful, honoring, and asset to NAXJA, in order for some to see Christians don't bite..... :laugh3: Looking forward to wheeling and having some fun beyond this.....J

Because religion is part of a persons belief system, some find it hard to divorce a discussion of religion from a discussion of themselves. Wars have been fought over beliefs. No one ever died defending an idea.

I suspect that someone in the past made a real PITA of themselves over this so to be "fair" the subject was banned.

Are we talking about religion yet or just skirting around it? :)

You asked!

Yeah right!!! You can't tell me you wouldn't read or respond to a post asking how everyone's doing being an Atheist and not having god in their life.
Codeman said:

It's not meant for a lot of people.

You should try it sometime. It's amazing how much you can do for yourself.

Your prerogative!!!

God's a DUDE??? Are you.........? I don't want to see a post about how much you're in love with some other dude. There's a vendor on this forum I won't do business with just because I think he mixes his business too much with his "love of god" and how bad his life was before he was "born again". I DON'T CARE!!!
Codeman said:

Maybe it's you that is the one that's scared. Are you scared of how good your life will be if you depended on yourself and not some figment of the imagination as your daily crutch? I have a sneaking suspicion that you're a recent born again christian that's trying to prove himself to whoever. :dunno:

Codeman, try believing in yourself FIRST.

PS I know that this response will be deleted, but oh well.

haha. You might get the whole thread deleted for that one.

Codeman....I belive in God. And I understand not being able to leave God in church. That does not however mean you have to subject the rest of us to it here. Plain and simple....this is not the place.

If YOU can not post on a thread without bringing up Religion then maybe you should not post at all. I'm not being nasty here. I'm sure there are plenty of sites dedicated to God and religion. If you feel the need to bring it into every post...Go there and have fun.
