Calling FULL TRACTION owners

Wow that lift is looking amazing. How much lift/travel did you end up with? Is there any chance of getting a break down of what this set up cost you?

:D

Thanks a lot! Not sure about travel yet because the fenders are not trimmed. The Skyjacker Nitro shocks I chose are about 28" extended so I believe that will be the limiting factor are far as droop. Not sure how crazy I want to go yet with the trimming and that will definitely limit my up travel. I will keep you on an update. As far as a breakdown, it depends on YOU. I had a YJ with around 7" of lift. The thing to look out for the most is universal joints. The higher angle sure used to do a number on that little shaft. Overall, like any car, MAINTNENCE is the key.

so how much for the full traction kit and the shocks so far?

Mine lifted 5" and I also put on a 1" Spacer to compensate for the weight of the bumper and winch. I did not trim my fenders at all, run 33" Toyos and have zero fender rub. I do have Hydro's for bumps, I just ran the wheel offset they recommended. My shocks are 10" 2.5 Kings with 11" shafts and the internal spacer removed.

has anyone been having trouble with their bushing wearing prematurly? just curious as this has been discussed on ROF and it seems like it is becoming a big problem and that Full Tractions customer service has droped off the edge of the planet

I have the full traction long arm kit 6in, I really like it a lot it seems to be a little loud,i think its the heim joints. It handles great high speeds on or or road. I did major trimming front and rear and i get some rubbing in the front, thats with 33x12.50s.My sway bar is just bolted on with the extensions and it seems to be good so far. Other the the few squeaks that seem to working themselves out i think its a great kit. I have a few pics ask what your looking for and ill see what i can do.

Hey guys, I saw this and thought it would be ok for the topic. Will that FT 6 inch kit work with a 5 speed manual? The crossmember is at 10 inches instead of 14 inches. So I don't know if the long arm brackets would fit. Thanks.

ya i have a buddy that did the RE short arms and a drop box for the lowers and he seems to like it. but i would have to say FT long arms r the way to go.

Anyone have saging problems in the rear? I think I will either need to ad a 1" block or just wait until I swap in a 44 and weld on taller brackets. Anyone have a better idea?

IM getting the full traction 6" long arm kit. in a month or to. And im going with 33" muds.

heres some basic info.
Our competition is not ready for this system, but your JEEP XJ is. Our off-road race winning 6• long arm lift for Jeep XJ models is a complete replacement suspension system. It utilizes 4 leading link front axle mounting for a true and correct caster curve throughout the entire range of linear wheel travel. Other systems using radius arms, medium length arms called •long arms• and the rest can match its performance.

For the rear axle, we offer a complete replacement leaf spring assembly. The result, is performance unmatched by other systems in both on & off road wheel travel and axle articulation. This system offers hard core rockcrawling performance from a system that rides and steers BETTER than stock. Do you drive your XJ daily? You now can without compromised handling.

You want tough? All components in this suspension system are built for maximum off road punishment. We construct our lower leading control arm assemblies of 2• x .250• wall DOM tubing for serious rock dragging strength, and 1/4• plate laser crafted bracketry throughout. No welding required to install. Full-Traction FS-5100 series shocks and CV drive shaft sold separate. Bilstein 5100 series shocks available. Fits up to 32-33" tires with minor modification or 35" tall tires with aftermarket fender flares.

Hey bwfdrums,

Sounds like you work for Full Traction. I have a few complaints. #1 My sway bar relocation bracket snapped and when I sent an email to costumer service I never received a reply or phone call. I do weld so I just welded it up and added a gusset. #2 The rear leaf packs are sagging badly and I will need to lift the rear at least 1" to level it. #3 the rear driverside bump stop extension needs to be cut or it will come in contact with the shock at full stuff. Luckly I bought RS5000 shocks because the driverside rear shock got smashed the first time out. If you do not work for them than I could of just read all that on their web site.

haha sorry I don't work for full traction. but I hope everything works out for you.

Ok since a few people on here said the leaf packs suck we should figure out the best way to fix the problem. I think the leafs are way to stiff to add a leaf. Other option would be to replace the pack. Other option would be to send them to Deaver and have them arched more. Other option would be to use lift blocks and I am not to fond of blocks. Other option is costomer service at FT should call back their customers when they complain and fix the problem. Oh wait we are not sure if they have costomer service. So thank god we have NAXJA so we can all help one another to solve the problems we have.

FT is the way to go. but as Chris420 said the rear bump top may rub. i just cut the corner off and its fine. and dont wheel with your disconnects attached or you could brake a relocating bracket. hope you enjoy it.
