But anyways, lets put this thread back on topic, if you folks don't mind.

Ill be out there in my beater. Gotta reflare 1 brake line cause its leaking but I'm ready to go otherwise. Hoping to have my 2x6 rocker replacement done by then.

There were a few questions about what's involved in a pit crew. There will be 3 pit locations, one in main camp, and two out in the desert somewhere. The pits need to be able to refuel the car, change a flat tire/spare tire, do a quick visual inspection, maybe feed the driver/co-driver, and fix whatever might break. There will need to be tires, fluids, spare parts, tools, and a generator and welder in each camp.

Mostly, though, you do nothing. If we don't need anything we might not even stop. After hanging out in main camp for whatever time you're there, and maybe doing some final prep work on the car the day or two before the race, you'll load up equipment early in the morning and head out to the pit location. Then visit with each other and enjoy the desert scenery, then watch the action as all the cars start arriving at the pits for whatever they may need. We'll all be on the radio, so you'll be up to speed on where we're at and what's going on most of the time. It can be fun and exciting, and maybe meet and make some new friends.

If we win, it will be damn exciting. It will also be exciting if we're in the hunt and you're keeping up with the action on the radio. Also, Transamerica is feeding our whole crew both Thurs and Fri evenings.

Should be fun and memorable. :)

I think goat man means you load up your jeep and get ready to go to the pits at 430 am after working all night on the car. Then lock your keys in it and half to break your window out with a hammer to make it to the pits on time.
