If I had even the slightest clue as how to remove a windshield without breaking it, I'd already have one in.

From what I hear the trick is piano wire is the trick. Work it through one area of that stupid windshield glue crap and then pull it around to cut a line through it (two person job).

I much prefer the old school rubber gasket windshields, they are a lot easier to remove and install. I understand later XJ's have these (my '96 appears to) but I haven't tried removing / installing one yet. If you can get confirmation of that I would suggest replacing the windshield with a later gasket (same windshield, same frame).

I get depressed thinking about how far I have to drive to get to the desert.
