My plastic radiator tank separated from the rest of the radiator.

Any idea of what would be a good replacement????????:helpme:

So many options it is crazy. Last radiator I bought I made sure it was all metal and not aluminum. Turned out to be a good idea when 6 months later I stuffed my fan clutch into the core in Johnson valley. Took a few hours to fix with a blowtorch and acid core solder. Still running that same radiator 5 plus years later.

I'd go with a Specter or Nissens OEM type replacement. The first one was metal/plastic and it lasted, what, at least 13 years?
$100 on RockAuto.com or $xx on Amazon.

See Bryan that is what is confusing me. The Brass/Copper is stronger but the aluminum is better and taking away the heat.
Looking at this one: http://www.andysautosport.com/jeep/...adiators/champion_radiators/chrd00000139.html

Or this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...R&pf_rd_r=1D3PAVP9YXMNWHER9R2N#productDetails

Find a local supplier for oem radiators, buy one of those. Just buy the max cooling version.

When an oem radiator is not available or too expensive for one of our customers at the shop we deal with 1 800 radiator, they deliver quickly and stand behind their parts 100%. That is where I bought mine.

I will look into this guys thank you for the input. Sounds like a NAPA call is in order.

If you're going to be in town anyway, sure.
Amazon sells the Spectra radiator for $89 shipped though.
. Up on the Ridge you've gotta be an amazon Prime member, right?

Don't have prime but can really justify spending big bucks on an expensive radiator right now so I ordered Spectra and upper and lower hoses from Amazon.
Sometimes the purse wins. :laugh3:

American eagle 2 core aluminum 1" rows. Other than that the 1.5" single row Mac cooling option for a stocker

OK.OK.OK.
Installed the Spectra radiator today. Burped like a little baby. And it is working well so far. The instillation was a simple remove and replace which I loved and it is running at idle in the yard at about 210* in this 90* heat.

So this ends my dribble on this adventure.

Thanks to everyone who gave me input and advice it was needed and appreciate.

SKIPPER! That is great news Tim!
so did you slap a DS on the rear yet and drive around?

Hell yes I did.

Started it up again this AM and filled the radiator with about 3/4 of a gallon of anti freeze and drove into Grass Valley for a little Jimboy's and some gas.

Babajeep did well. Pulling up out of the S Fork of the Yuba canyon with the AC on it stayed at or below 210*.

Very happy with it so far. Taking it to Rocklin tomorrow to get a pair of DS so we will see how that goes but everything should be fine.
