Aetna Re-run trip.

I don't know, I have no Idea, I don't care who it was. It is irrelevent, so I didn't ask. But EVERYBODY agreed that the last trip sucked. Im not trying to start shit, but I would guess from the attitude you are expressing that you thuink I am talking about you? However, you clearly stated that you have never led a NXJA group/event, so that couldn't be possible now could it? But if you were to lead it, and you did choose to sit at the PB hole, then this trip would suck too, until I showed up and actually rode the trails that the group has come to see.

I was there and also call BS the group split up as some went and rode and others did not. I also lead a group off the mtn that had women and children with them because the naxja group left them and they did not know where to go or how to get off the mtn. I think when you ride as a group there is a lot more important things then who is the leader. I think to be a trail boss you need to look out for everyone not just your little click but what do I know :peace:

X2 ^. We got left as well. I had ppl passing me that I know were up there with NAXJA that didn't even say hey. We got to PB hole, broke then everyone from NAXJA left. and it's not like y'all didn't know we were in the middle of PB hole....

But what do I know.

what does it matter what board people post on. I would like to know if someone breaks or gets lost will your super leader help them ? or are you guys just going to say we will see you later or find a local to help you out. I would like to attend but need to know what kind of group I would be going with since I am a newb here would I have support or be stuck ?

He was in my group at Winrock last Saturday. He helped me out many times during the day. We left no one behind.

moving on....if it was the weekend before ( the 18th)i could go all weekend . my wife and daughter will be out of town. But everyone seems happy with the 25th so i probably won't make it

Let's all try a few things out to see if we can stay more on topic to the OP.

...Agreed

when i click on "Aetna Re-run trip" i wanna read about the trip, who's going, what time to meet up... not other junk.

So who's trail bossing. Just the Willys feller?

What about the stocker guys anyone wanna lead them?

We need to make the "Trail Boss" fully understand his duties this tome so people dont get all flustered...I had a good time in Oct. up there if that helps any LOL

I have been Trail boss many times in the past. I will plan a trip thatt will allow anyone to come with us, whether it is a built out the butt rig, or a stocker. However, due to the layout of Aetna, this will be a fun trip for everybody no matter what you are driving. We will be hitting some hard stuff, but the obsticles all have bypasses that stock jeeps can go on. I WILL NOT leave anybody behind. I have been in a situation where a group left me, and it sucks. I will see to it that anybidy who has trouble is helped by me, and there will be people there that can lead another group if the carnage is major. You can ask anybody that has ever rode with me, Ed, Dan, Jarrad, Matt, Tim, Doug, Mark, ect. They all know me, and they all know that if someone needs help in my group, I will be by their side to help in anyway I can. I would like to see our entire group stay together if possible. That way nobody gets lost, and nobody gets left behind.

As far as length of the trip. We can camp if everybody wants to, or we can have a day trip. It is up to everybody. Also, if some want to camp and some want to leave, I can lead a group down the mountain at the end of the day while the "campers" are setting up their tents. I will then meet back up with them after the "non-campers" are safetly off the mountain. But like I said, its up to you all, just post what you want to do.

Finally, it seems as if April, 25 will be good for most people. Is it ok if we make this the official date now? Or would you guys rather me wait a few more days?

You talking about being the one and only trail boss?

Aetna is not fun if you have one huge group of rigs with all capability levels...just so some of y'all know...

I'd much rather have a group of 4 or 5 at the most up there. Yeah there's bypasse but some take you a little ways off the trails the big boys wanna run...and you'll actually get to wheel. Which idk about y'all but that's why I'd be going.

Why not divide up and let a couple guys that have been there take a couple groups. All an meet up at PB hole whenever and then depending on skill/ability levels they can run whatever...

Just my .02...

Agreed.
Make sure if you split up that each group has a good trail boss for each group.

LOL your TJ ready to go Larry?
It should be. Let just say that streching to 107, putting in a rubicon case, changing from Low pinnion 60/70 to a high pinnion 60 front/rear and putting on rocker/corner gaurds takes more time than you think. :sad1:

I plan on coming out for this trip.

Yeah Larry that was what I was saying by splitting into groups. That way you have more than 1 trail boss and if something happens they can holler to come help instead of the while group sitting and waiting...

Trail bossing isn't hard..just know where you're going, keep up with your guys, communicate, and take the best suitable lines for that groups capability.

I think trail leader would be better suited than trail boss...
we have bosses at work, don't want to be told what to do on the trail, would rather follow someone who knows what their doing...

Dan, the term trail boss indicates "Trail Leader", not literally a boss. It's a term that has been around forever. ;) If you do not want elaborate organization on these types of rides, then this is why they end up as one big clusterfudge. You should probably just do ad-hoc rides instead.

i'm cool with either term... just hadn't really heard of "trail boss", and "trail leader" seemed more polite? it doesn't really matter to me what they're called, as long as there's someone "in charge"...
