Aetna Re-run trip.

what are the trails like? rocks, mud, ???? I would like to make it, but don't know how much time I will get to work on my rig by then. I've had frame stiffeners in the garage for more than a month and don't have them on yet, I need to have the winch worked on, and need to build some new sliders and a new rear bumper...alot of stuff to do and not enough free time.

I guess what I am trying to say is--will I destroy my rig if I don't get everything done? (for those of you who haven't seen me wheel, I don't avoid anything)

if you don't wanna try something, there's another way... several by passes for just about all tough spots.
but with your spirited driving style, you should be fine. i'd worry about recovery points, and then sliders...

"sprited"....I don't think I've ever heard it put that way.

I'm good on front recovery, but I pulled my rear bumper and am planning a superior design over the last one. I don't think the sliders should take long once I have the stiffeners on. I am also in the process of making quarter guards to cover the damage from the Flog.

The place is very user firendly, if you don't want to do something, you will never have to. There is always a way around. Aetna is a very good place to ride because no matter if you have a 1000 HP buggy on Rockwells and 54" Boggers, or stock daily driver 4x4, you will have a good time. Nobody, has to destroy their rig to ride with us, however, there are tons of spots to test the limits if you choose to do so.

I go the easiest way(that I've found) to get ppl to PB hole then y'all can play and run the loop or whatever. Nothing more than a rock or two and some mud.

There's always stockers out there.

We won,t be going to easiest and fastest way to the PB hole. Yes, we will end up there at a point, but it won't be until mid day or so. The last trip suicked because the leader went to the PB hole and broke out the cooler for the rest of the day leaving the rest of the group with nothing to do. That will not happen this time. Yes we will go to the PB hole to play some, but we will also ride around pretty much the entire place and hit some of the lesser known obsticles. Unfortunately, we will probably end up on the same trail more than once to loop back around to other obsticles, but that is just how the trails are laid out. However, I will try to map out a ride that prevents this from happening too much. I promise a full day of wheeling, and I promise everyone will have a much better time on this trip.

You know I want to go but I'm gettin married that weekend!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! :woohoo:

You know I secured the Jeep by proposing in it, but I don't think she would approve of wheelin instead of getting married.

Maybe we can make the next trip. I definetly want to go to Aetna!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D

...I heard this place is better suited to 4 wheelers, so some people might not wanna come if that's the case.

4wheelers would be fun up there but they just run on the 4x4 trails. It's no Windrock if that's what your saying.

I'd ride down if I were you. I don't know many people at all that don't like it up there.

Who would this be?

I don't know... I was out of town that weekend and was unable to make it. I just heard some of the other Naxja members that attended talking about how the leader wouldn't wheel his jeep and was a puss about doing stuff. All he wanted to do was watch rednecks break their junk in the PB Hole, and that he was a good tater cleaner. :shhh: Were you able to make that trip?

LOL! LMFAO! Mark, I do agree that mason jars would be better suited for you... I can't say much, apparently I can fix anything with a screwdriver or two. I even learned that its easier to get to the oil plug if the vehicle is on its side, or thats what the park ranger said anyway.

So, who all is cool with the April 25 Date? I think Ive gotten most peoples opinions, but I want to get a final head count pretty quick. Everyone please post wheather or not you can go then. If no, please post a date that would work for you. Like I said, I want this to be a good trip and one that is convienient for most people.

I'm gonna have to take a rain check on this outing. I do want to get down there though so if anybody plans on going in May or something please let me know.
