6th Annual Reno Run (Memorial Weekend 2016)

I am having frame stiffeners welded on this week in preparation. Then reinstall the skid and sliders and i am ready....Oh and put on the rear bumper.

Skipper! So happy you are going ! You and lisa are gonna love it!

I will be sans Lisa this time. trying to get the next generation of XJ drivers excited about rock crawling so I am going to see if my granddaughter, Madison wants to go.

I belive saturday we will split into groups for different difficulty trails.

already used my 200 mile tow. hopefully this year doesn't get the best of me.

Just found at least 2 bad heims(UCA and drag link at the knuckle) , and possibly both trackbar heims are toast, so swapping those out asap. rig is getting caged right now too.

Im more than likely going to have an open passenger front seat if anyone needs a spot. Ill have my back seat open but we all know how small the XJ back seat is for 8 hours of wheeling.

Are you still going up Thursday night? If so, where are you staying? I'm still torn between going up Thursday night or convoy up Friday morning with GordoSmasho

I grabbed a room at the Grand Sierra. 48$ with AAA but then add some fees. going to try to hit Sparks PNP friday morning. Planning on playing some black jack back at the casino and having a few cocktails there after wheeling thursday night.

Bud canyon thursday night should be fun. Was just up it last week and it's changed some ;)

Whats the difficult trail for saturday?

Whats the difficult trail for saturday?
Depends who is in for the difficult trail ;) I was thinking of shakedown canyon. I ran a trail today out by bronco called dead horse canyon or as the old school wheelers called it "neverending canyon". It was nuts... it took 4 of use almost 8 hours to run maybe 3 miles of trail!

isn't shakedown much closer than bronco though? and it ends into the last waterfall of dolores?

if its as far out as bronco and longer we wouldnt make the BBQ though...

Saturday we will be going to Steve's Loop which is north of Sparks near Pyramid Lake. It is an "easy" trail but there are some sections that are challenging and fun, even for guys with bigger tires. Plus the scenery is spectacular and quite different than most other trails.

On our way back after Steve's Loop we could double down and do Billy Bobs & Twister for the built rigs if they want to run some shorter difficult trails....

Those who don't want to do Steve's Loop can go with Alan for a harder trail.
