I am coming thursday morning, and leaving sunday after Bronco or mondayy
Small recap of the amenities for the group camp site.
- The area has picnic tables, running water, bathrooms, hot showers, large barbecue grills, bear-proof food lockers and a large campfire ring
So excellent news. The group campground is a go. If you would like to add your name to the list pm me. As of right now it's 20$/night/tent. Again the more people camp the lower the price goes. The reservations are Friday evening through Monday morning.

What are the minimums to run this? My XJ isn't set up very well yet, but I know what I'll make, and what I won't, without breaking anything anyways. I'm on a 3-4' lift on 30's. upgraded steering, gas tank and tcase skid, Good front tow point(none in rear, yet). I think I remember alist of requirements somewhere, do these apply? I'm down for the trip and camping, but would like to know if the jeep would work out there.
Here is the list of required equipment perBy-laws:
Equipment List
a. Visibly charged fire extinguisher (BC or ABC)
b. First aid kit
c. Adequate spare tire, jack and lug wrench
d. Safety belts for driver and any current passenger
e. Adequate attachment points in the front and rear of the vehicle:
1. Acceptable forms of attachment points: (All Items must be mounted in a manner to provide adequate strength and integrity)
2. Tow hooks of OEM or greater integrity
3. D-Rings
4. Shackle/Clevis
f. 20ft 10,000lb snatch strap without any metal hooks
g. Secured battery (no bungee cords)
We do need to follow this and so I would highly advise you have a rear recovery point. A tow hitch will do.
The mild trails we plan on running are best suited for rigs with 31" tires and bigger but if you know how to drive, 30's will probably make it. I say probably because I have taken rigs on 31's through Bronco Canyon before but not anything smaller. Having it lifted will certainly help as will the skids. It will be up to you if you go and you certainly are welcome if your XJ is mechanically sound and trail ready. Saturday's run to Steve's Loop will be a good test and you can decide from there if you want to do Bronco Canyon on Sunday. Of course Bronco is much harder but there are some easy lines and bypasses. It is far from pavement however and if we have any major breakdowns in the canyon it could be difficult getting back to the road - another case for having tow points front and rear.
