I left a message at the district office today. They are open mon-fri so I expect to get a call on Monday if not I'll call again.

I think with even just a few campers the rate would be more than fair. Even if I had to pay 50 a night it's cheaper than a hotel. A little high for camping but considering the alternatives not bad.

Sounds good Gordo! I'm in for camping.

Silver Legacy is $49 a night but that weekend its $129 a night.
Motel 6 is $66 a night. Does anyone know which of the three would be closest to where we wheel: Reno, South Reno or Sparks?

They are closed Friday? And 149 a night? Where did you see those prices? Oh wait you're saying it's normally 49$ never mind

I just did a down and dirty Expedia search for the Reno Weekend http://www.expedia.com/Hotel-Search...f+America&adults=1&regionId=602688&sort=price

I don't know if there is going to be a lot of wiggle room as far a prices go on a Memorial Weekend but maybe some.

I am thinking that camping in a group camp site and having my meals out is a nice blend between hotel and camping.

My last time in Bronco Canyon was 2004, would be nice to go back, I will see if I can make this one. Doubt it but I will try.

So I got a call back from davis creek campgrounds today. Here are the group campground details.

- 50 people is the limit for overnight
- 15 vehicles are included per night (Additional Vehicles at a cost per vehicle)
- Total reserved price and deposit are due at time of reservation
- Site must be checked out by a ranger at the end of visit to receive your deposit back
- There is a small walk from the parking area to the tent/fire ring area. I'm told its about 100ft.
- The area has picnic tables, running water, hot showers, large barbecue grills, bear-proof food lockers and a large campfire ring

So that means at the time of reservation the cost is $400 for 3 days. Not sure about how to organize this as I don't personally have the funds to front this but I would like to organize it as best I can for all parties interested in camping at this site.

So to start I would want to know a List of all parties that would like to camp. I can then get a better Idea of cost per person. The more people who camp the less per person price. Then I will need PayPal payment from all parties making reservations at the camps site once we are set on a final price. I can probably front the deposit. Please keep in mind once you have paid it will not be refundable. I need a definite list not a maybe list. Realistically Cost per tent should be under $25 per night if we get a few groups involved.

Really looking forward to this and would like to get the reservations done by this weekend so please post up asap. I'm going to call the closing of reservations for friday. Then I will have prices to everyone this weekend and hopefully get payment from everyone as well. Thanks Guys

We are in for one tent for sure. I like the price too. Thank you for looking into this for everyone and doing the coordination for camping. :loveu:

Davis Creek is really nice. Its beautiful on that side of the valley, and really quick from there to Reno and Carson. If I had a touch more room you guys could camp at my house, maybe next year I'll have enough room.

That was the only reason I was urging a different weekend ...prices every other weekend are very affordable....but people cant go other weekends. its a viscous cycle.

Josh that first Reno run was one of my favorite wheeling trips of all time. So many trails in one day that friday then bronco the next. Eric is always accommodating and very understanding and relaxed and cool which made the trip so much better. Eric is just plain good people .
