If I get the misalignment spacers for a 2 inch wide bracket would running washers to make it 2.5 wide be a bad idear?

probably.

ruff stuff makes wide misalighnmet spacer. to make a 7/8 hiem 2.5 wide. but they're not cheap at almost 7 bucks a pop.

I ripped off my glass pack that was a shocker. Floored then bamB it fell off tearing off some of the pipe.

Cleaning it up I burned the shit out of my hand.
