Your first gun

my first gun was a .300 win mag ruger with a stainless steel barrel and a composite stock. also the first gun i got "scoped" by. im a big guy but that thing kicks like a mother

Wasn't my first but it was my big favorite, a colt 1893 gatling gun, 30/40 cal on a cassion that I found in an antique store and purchased for A&Finch back in 76 for $15,000. Had to test fire it before purchase so the owner and I loaded it on a trailer and took it down to a 'scenic point' in stonington ct over looking long island sound and pumped 400 rounds thru it out over the water, it was love at first crank, A&F sold to some saudi prince for $50,000 and I made a nice commission...

First and only one I've bought (so far :D )

Savage 11GL in 22-250, very impressed.

Also have an older Browning O/U that was givin to me a while back that I use for skeet/ trap.

My first guy was a marlin 30-30. Best brush gun ever. Great thing for a seven yr old Kid to train on. Dad said that it was important to know the power of a gun and that if you didn't start out with at least a small bit of power and kick you would never respect the power guns had and would end up hurting someone you knew.

I used that as soon as it was leagal for me to hunt and as soon as I passed hunter safety (I loved it when the instructor took my 30-30 at the rifle range and demonstated it power by shooting it at a pumpkin-Dad was right respect the power).
I Bought a Remington 410 when I was 14 because of the utility for varmit and deer.

Then Got a inherited my uncle's mauzer (.465) after he died. @ 200yrds That gun is the most accurate thing I have fired. After I got married the wife got me a browning A5 shoots 3 & 3 1/4. Father-in-law willed me a Colt 45 long barrel (talk about power) and I just got a 308 mag last year.
Love guns and hunting. Proper respect for their power and uses means a life-time of fun and sporting.

Bowser- I'm right handed, but left eye dominant, so is my Dad. Take a look at Remingtons. I've got a .308 Rem pump that is awesome, and my Dad has the same version on 30-06.

We also have to pay more for our Percussion Cap rifles, as well as our Flint locks. Not too fun having a nice powder burn on the side of your face.

Man was it a pisser on the range too. Always having nice hot M-16 shells ejected right across your nose.

What all do you guys have in your collection?

I've got the .22 mentioned initially. One other rifle and pistol in that calibre. My Taurus .38 special, the Remington, percussion and flint lock rifles, and a Mossberg 500.

The only other guns I'd like to get a hold of would be a Tomcat(CCW), a 1911, and that gun 5-90 was talking about, the take-down one.

The first time I went out shooting with my father I believe I was 9 years old. He gave me an old Winchester bolt action .22. He said I wouldn't be shooting anything with a scope until I learned to shoot the right way with iron sites. Then he gave me his Ruger 10/.22, which was the first gun he ever bought when he was 15.

For pistols he starrted me out with a S&W .22. Then for shits and giggles he let me shoot the S&W .40 and .357 magnum with the magnum bullets that he was shooting. I pretty much shit myself and he giggled.

Once I'm done with my EMT class I'll take the hunters safety course so I can finally get a gun of my own.

Crossman 760 10 pump. (I almost shot my eye out! No joke!) I paid for my first gun when I was around 12. I had saved $75 and asked my father if I could get a gun like his. He had a 10/22. He picked up a used Remington Nylon 66 for me with my money. I was in love. I liked the idea that it held 14 rounds compared to his 10. It is much quieter than the Ruger. It has been years since my father and I got to shoot together for fun. For the first time ever, the tables were turned when I took him to the range to skool him on muzzeloading last week. We went a second time and plan on going again next week. It brings back alot of great memories.

My first was a Stevens "visible Loader"
It was a rusted POS that was given to my by my Grandfather.
We cleaned it up and but I never shot it.
It was still in pretty bad shape.
I had it refurbished and gave it to my son, he will pass it down also.

My favorite is an SKS.
I love that gun!
I can go out on a Sunday P.M. an blow off 500 rounds, easily
I am not able to say how many guns I have at this moment.:D

First: Exel .410 ga.

Favorite: handgun....S&W 4506
long gun...H&R M1 Garand

.410 bolt action with 3 round box magazine. Don't laugh, I took geese with the thing. Mind you, I shot them in the head and before I learned that it was sporting to shot them in the air! I still have it. I re-did the stock and baby it. I have used it with my sons to shoot rabbits, squirrels, and the occasionally unfortunate robin.

Yea, but they are a real PIA to reload for, however if you use BL-2 theres no measuring involved, just fill the case as it's a compressed load :D we did about 3,000 rounds last year and it's getting near that time again...
