work party, escondido

yep. got the track bar bracket and plasma today so i can make the rear bumper.
plenty of time!
really just need to do the front bumper brackets and track bar bracket to be safe.

haha, that was awesome. i wasted hours watching the other battles, some funny shite.
so i got my bumper brackets mounted, and new rear bumper made. i used the hell out of them both with rock impacts, so glad i did.
as for the rest of it, didnt get to it, but i kinda wish i got the track bar bracket installed, it got really loose. i brought it with me just in case though.
tons of work ahead though.

work party is back on! got the frame stiffeners on, modified the trans crossmember so i can weld on the front lower control arm brackets, got the rear lower brackets welded on, got the track bar bracket on, and got the rear of the interior stripped so i can do the coilover towers. :)
still left to do:
weld on truss for d30
put drop in locker in d30, and chromo shafts.
pull old d30 and d45 out
weld on new front lower control arm brackets
cut off old stock control arm brackets
put in new d30
put in new d44
weld in rear upper control arm brackets
swap master cyl and brake booster
bleed brakes
weld on front section of frame stiffeners
put in new durango steering box
plasma out some plate for rear section of frame stiffeners
cut off leaf spring shackle brackets on frame
build rear shock towers for coilovers
install coilovers
finish rear bumper
drink lots of beer.

so as you can see, i'm almost done! :D
who wants to help? obviously i'll probably have to do all the welding since i only have one mig, but the brakes and steering are bolt on stuff.
trying to get it all done before the 13th for truckhaven

sweet!
btw, do you know if i need to pull the carrier and/or ring gear to install a lockright-like locker in a d30 with 4.56's?

You will at least need to pull the carrier due to some genius bean counter deciding to use a roll pin to retain the cross shaft.

ah yea, i forgot about that lil guy.

made a little progress today, got the shackle bracket removed (that was a PITA), and got the frame rail cleaned up. next i need to make a template so i can cut out the frame stiffeners.

Got the hole cut through the floor for the coilovers on one side, and got one part of the frame stiffener cut out of 3/16" plate. it goes through the floor to make up one wall of the shock tower. It fits pretty well, so time to do side 2. Then i get to drill a ton of holes for rosette welding and weld it on. once i get these on it's fairly smooth sailing (famous last words).
