started working on my new rock rails today. cut the rockers out, and cut off the bottom of the doors almost 2". the 2x6 is flush with the door jamb.
gained about 3-4" of ground clearance. gotta cap off the ends and clean up the trim job on the doors, but this side is mostly done.

it's a little over 27" from the ground to the bottom of the rail, not too bad for only 5" of lift and mostly full body.

took it out to test the rails, and they held up just fine. i thrashed the hell out of them too. took a little to get used to them not being in the same spot as before as i tend to use them to pivot the jeep around big rocks, like the smaller rock in the pic below.

before anyone says anything, the jeep was not being held by the hilifts when i was under there, they were more or less just sitting there. jeep is on the ground in that pic lol plus it was hooked up to Mike's winch for extra peace of mind.
