I did not know untill today, I replaced them on my new axles tonight.
Sorry,
I've noticed you've had your irons in a few fires ... me too, except it has not been as public (not pubic, darnit).

Well, since it would seem I am going to be coming to WF again (been a while) thought I would post up. Jeep is ready. Wheeled it Sat. and everything seems to be in order. 2 place trailer I am borrowing however, needs a little work. Wiring is basically non-existant, so that is going to take some time, plus getting the brakes working and welding on some new safety chains. Not big items, but still stuff that needs to be done.

I installed the ball joints today ... I let them go way too long. The lowers were "scary" worn out. One of the uppers had some play in it. Glad I got these replaced.

Firewood is all cut. Have about a pickup load to bring up. Hopefully we won't have to burn the straw this time. It was stacked all nice up on the hill til the wind blew the other night. We're going to have to re-stack it tomorrow.

Aaron is supposed to ask the neighbor boy if they have any bales of straw this year. I'm almost positive they do, but if need be, I'll hit the Sale Barn next Saturday and get that. I'll bring up 10 - 15 bales.

Les

BTW: Full size spare this year!

Sweet!
Get the bales ready for me!
I'm bringing pallets.
How many should I bring?

Anyway, I got the gears in this morning, changed out all my steering (thanks, Hinkley), and tweaked on the leaf packs.
I might have the rear flexing as well as the front, now.

I'm going to replace all the steering on mine after Winterfest ... drag link, tie rod, and new TRE's. Also going to do something about those control arm angles! :D

I MAY NOT be ready... Having the gall bladder out on the 23rd. Might be hard to get my 6 degree shims installed on the rear axle before the 2nd without a little help from the brotherhood...

As the time approaches, and as I recover, the wounds may not allow me to do much tugging and yanking. I do have air, heated, clean garage though. Vibes since my bout of inchitis have gotten worse and my perfessinal calculamatations tell me I need to bring down the angle by 6 on the 8.25. Would like to put in my new 297 front axles and hubs too. New fully loaded cals to top things off. Have a nice new MityVac brake job thingy too.

Anyone willing to help a brother?? Have some things to finish up on yours and would like to scoot around on a crawler in a heated garage... Let me know.

Rob

Still not ready. Haleyes, I think I did the same thing you did. I put the shock mounts to close to the perches. So now I have to cut them off the axle and mount them again. DAMN!! I was so close to being done and now this. Less than two weeks to go and this. Well, I will have to try and get to it tomorrow.

Even after I warned you?? Geezz!!

You'll get it. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH CLEARANCE THIS TIME!

I'm officially ready now. Aussie is in.

You can all sleep now.:D

Got my cherokee put back together last night.

Replaced the bent tie rod
Took off the Bushwacker flares
Added some Performance Metal Works upper quarter guards

Still can't figure out what to do about the broken carbon fiber tail light, I guess they weren't real carbon fiber :dunno:.

Carbon breaks, believe me... I've shattered carbon to ribbons, albeit at speeds in excess of 600MPH.

HEY, what'd ya do with the Bushwackers you pulled off? Seeling em? What kinda shape if you are? First crack if selling!

Should have went to Red Bird. I think everybody had a little body damage. JIM.

Got the 8.8 in finally!! Just have to finish the brakes and hook up the driveshaft and breather tube. The leaf springs I used gave me about 4.5" to 5" of lift. Now I have a problem with my shocks being to long. Well I guess I will have to use them as bump stops because I can't afford to get some shorter shocks.

Now I have to lift the front up some. That will have to wait. Couple of other things to address now to get ready for WF.
