We are definately in for this event since we didnt make it last year. Course we could have been the 3rd roll over so we might have saved a jeep by not going. Either way money is already being set aside for this trip.

I most likely won't even bring the roof rack. 3800 miles means I need it to be as slippery as possible.
Usually on long road trips I throw a hitch rack on with a waterproof bag for clothes. It stays at camp obviously.

My wife was the same way. Literally the night before I hit the road she decided to go...reluctantly but then had a great time.
My now 11 YO son was terrified as at the '06 crawl we laid my XJ on its side with him in it and since then he all but refused to go wheeling. Now he's excited about it again after going to this years (2013) Crawl.

Depends on a lot as to whether our toddler will be there.
