^nice! my 90 laredo had 250 and change when i got rid of her.. and it wasn't because of the engine/drivetrain. My new.. to me 90 has some engine quirks but it's going to ding 200k in a few months (1988--) and I just had it up in the woods sunday
looked at an '88 for a parts vehicle, had 270,9xx on it. owner claimed that as far as he knew it had never been apart. judging from the gunk and leaks, i believe him. it ran perfectly and had just passed smog. still had the ol' ba10/5 in it, shifted just fine. gotta love renixj's. my own '87 is just a baby at 183,636.
Hi there I have two 4.0's my primary is a 1998 xj with 172,000 miles. All I have done to it was change the oil and put new spark plugs in it, I see no reason I can't get another 100,000 miles out of it.
The other is in my 1987 mj it has 208,000 miles it also has an 11 inch crack in the engine block when I purchassed it for $300 a year ago. I used 3m 5200 marine adheasive sealant to plug up the crack and it just Loves:heart: it. I use 15w40 diesal engine oil because I can steal it from work. I affectionately call it the piece of shit truck And it is
my 87 has 235,000 on it and leaks a quart every 1500 due lack of exterior maintenance.
my 94 lerado (ZJ) is 318 powered and has 184,000 on it and drinks a quart every 1000 no leaks. I really don't belive the oil last long enough to find a place to leak out.
Have an '89 XJ with 247,000 on it. Just lost an expansion plug due to corrosion... same time the fluid loss from the plug exploded 3 of the 4 tubes on the exhaust manifold (all cracked at the factory welds on the collector, imagine that!) Replaced expansion plug, reinstalled cracked manifold for time being, keep the fluids changed and she's still running strong! Hoping she at least hits that 300,000 mark before death!

1992 with 255,000 miles on it. I bought it two months ago from the original owner. She used the same mechanic since 1996 and he kept records on everything. Other than steering slop and carpet that smelled like something had died on it, no problems...
