Where did you go wheeling this weekend?

yea, this place sucks. stay away. the only reason i havent left is because gas is too expensive to go that far. that's how they keep you.

No. No trees. We don't have any wheeling either, nor do we have nice weather. In fact, everything is overinflated here in CA. So, don't even think about visiting or moving here. You would hate it here.

Ba Bye..

E

I could have swore you guys had those sparkly trees.

Ba bye..

LOL Sounds like a good concept.

We've got Gucci Shoe Trees, Drag Strip. “Christmas Tree” 's, Tree Hugger's, the Yoga "Tree Pose", and I have a fence made from Redwood trees. So we've got tree's. ;)

Wheeler Pass, and the Carpenter Canyon and Trout Canyon areas out near Pahrump. Was hoping to shoot some rabbits too, but I never found any, most of this area is higher altitude and the lower desert is rather dry, so that's probably why.

Awesome XXXXing picture!

Is that Charleston in the background?

is that your wife's jeep? i thought the one i saw you in was different, unless you just have full doors on it now.

nice stripers. from the shore or canoe?

Took the canoe out toward the end of the cove, but I was fishing from the shore. caught 3 with anchovies, and 1 with floating trout bait.

I had probably 2 dozen anchovies stripped off the hooks. I have to use weedless hooks out here or it'll snag on every cast, so that doesn't help either. I think I need to find some smaller dead bait fish and smaller hooks.

Went back to the same place again, to do some fishing and try out the new motor on my canoe (yeah I'm lazy). Caught 2 stripers, had a third but he broke my line.

If only these guys were interested in my bait.

those are all males waiting for that one female to come out of the bush.
that is one clear fish finder screen you got there. lol.
have you tried (live) sardines? not i would i am saying to try it because it is illegal in many areas. but......... they kill it.
since you have a good depth of where they are (looks to be about 3') try drop shoting with a nightcrawler. weight at the bottom, hook at 3' above weight with NO leader. let the weight rest on the bottom, let the worm sink for 3-5 seconds then twitch it back up without lifting the weight off the bottom. makes the worm look distressed and tasty.

didn't try worms this time, I have a bunch in the fridge I just forgot to grab them. I was using (dead) sardines, seem to be popular with the stripers. I usually have one line setup with weights just like you're talking about, and one line with a bobber about 3 feet off the hook.
