D35 Leaking

Hello! I have a D35 in a 1990 comanche that's leaking fluid through the pinion yoke itself, like right behind the nut. I see nothing coming out the sides of the pinion area. Based on install videos and pictures of parts I don't see how replacing a pinion seal would solve this. What's the proper way to seal behind the nut? I've seen people put RTV on the Transfer Case side for that yoke. But there's also a washer in that one. The d35 doesn't seem to have anything sealing those splines. Will I need a new yoke then?

I'll replace the pinion seal cause why not, just want to make sure it fixes my problem. And I intend to reuse the crush seal and nut, just plan to count threads and line my mark back up. (I did this work in a D44 and it was cake but of course no crush seal to worry about :-/ )

Thanks!
