Wheelin May 31st

Sounds good to me...I may be able to make it out. Should be getting Bruces skid and AJs sliders on before this run.

I'm on a locked D30 and open 8.25 right now with 31s.

Now I have to straighten and bolt back on my Rustys front tow hooks...those things sucked bent to crap on side pulls but never ripped off...

I would say you would be fine with a locker and 31's on one of the trails but the other trail I would say you would need 33's and a locker to make it. I know others have done it with less but the other trail is eroding pretty fast we may wont to say 33's for that trail at a minimum? Anyone else have opinions on that?

he'l be fine on the 2nd one with a locker and 31s, he will just have to watch his lines

I'm not doubting that he wont be fine there or that he couldn't do it. In reality he can do the trail with go arounds . I'm more discussing if it is best for the trail or not. If he does try larger obstacles with a good line even he will have more wheel spin than a person on 33's with the same line and driving ability due to the gain in clearance on the belie and on the diff. Again this is my opinion no more no less. If it is a consensus that 31's are fine on this trail that is fine. I just know in a year this trail has gotten so much worse in regards to erosion that the obstacles have grown over 2 and 3 feet.

MY .02

where exactly are you going>? I am going with my local club the week before about 30 min away from there.

Damn I was getting excited because I'll have my Jeep done by then and then I realized I'll be in Illinois on the 31st. Maybe next time then.

Begster! What's goin on its Colin we met at Crown a week ago or so. Lemme know if you ever need help wrenchin or anything, I'm around on the weekends.

Got AJs sliders and Bruces t-case skid coming next weekend for mine haha.

I LOVE the go pedal lol. I'll be bringin spare D30 and 8.25 shafts probably so I should be good.

not trying to be a jerk, but honestly curious, what good will 8.25 shafts do? it's a c-clip axle...

i should have my tow points set up by then so i will almost definitely be game.

Am I wrong to assume that if I were to blow one I couldn't swap it out for a spare?

yeah. the c-clip holds it in place inside the carrier.... and unless you take your cover off, you can't swap the shaft.

So yeah you pull the cover with a spill pan and you pull the c-clip and the shaft replace it and done.

oh... i guess i've never heard of an on-the-trail c-clip axle shaft replacement. do people do that?

this really isnt a trail for 31's guys

those were 34's and 35's and the pics are from nearly 2 years ago. much worse now.

if you get up it (the second trail) on 31's and 1 locker it'll be because you used nothing but illegal go-arounds. the main trail is serious and it breaks rigs.

as for the first trail, thats 100% private property. runs get scheduled through Paul Regish. [email protected].
