My 87 waggy is back in DD service :wave1:
Just received a new OEM clutch kit Saturday for the too hard to work for my legs now, heavy duty clutch I installed over 15 years ago (which still works) on my 85, 4 banger diesel. Let's see what the OEM pressure plate feels like :eyes:
But now I need to find a local shop that will swap it for me at my rates in a reasonable amount of time :guitar:LOL.
Making some progress here. Got the tests run on the transmission fluid pressures on the Ford Taurus, 96 that has a transmission that works perfectly for days then just takes a week off refusing to stay in gear, harsh shifts. The test date between cold and hot transmission fluid was stark, making me think and hope it might be a cheap electrical issue with the pressure control solenoid valve critter they use (about $35). I suspect this transmission does not have a manual limp mode :tears:, so major surgery may be needed to get to the dang solenoid pressure regulating valve. Gotta love the AW4s electronic bypass mode!!!
Got to the local JY Saturday and thought I had scored 2 sets of lighted - mirror visors, light blue and tan for my rigs, but the 94-97 jeep visors are about 4-5" shorter than the 85-89 jeeps so they do not fit. I am putting them up for sale, or trade. So I still need three sets of good 85-89 visors (do not need to be lighted, just need to have good, non-rotting covers still) I need tan and blue, I think 2 sets of blue, and one tan.
There were only 3 jeeps left in the entire yard :tears:, 94, 96 both red, and a 97 blue. No Grand Chreokees at all left. They are getting hard to find here. Any other Houston junk yards you guys know of with a good lot of jeeps, especially 87-90? or 85?
Did find a Saturn we are going back Monday to salvage parts from on the steering column...
I also scored a combo valve brake light switch Saturday

and some window gaskets, but I still need several window gaskets, front and rear doors, and one for the Wagonner is kinda special and the front door wing windows that work, and need those special gaskets. Hard to find. I ended up with some spare window gaskets I may not need, not sure yet.
Oh, there was a class 1 (or is it class III?) it is an extra heavy duty factory towing hitch already pulled and ready to grab in perfect shape!!!! PM if you want details....
