What I need to get done before Winterfest

Looked at a newer F350 on Saturday but it was a lot rougher than described and decided to scrap that idea. I'm glad I did, since I went home and fooled around with the current F350 and got it running well again. Time will tell if my O-ring job was a true success or failure, but at least it starts quick and idles decent for now. Even if it turns out to still be burning a little oil, I can keep it topped off till after WF and deal with it then.

My diff covers shipped and I'm hopeful I'll get sliders soon, then the real (XJ) work begins. I'm optimistic I'll get it all done this next week; getting the tow rig fixed took a huge weight off my shoulders and at least I know I'll have a warm place to sleep and can join in the festivities even if the XJ isn't exactly how I want it to be.

The current plan is to get as much as I can done by this Friday and do a Badlands shakedown run on Saturday.

This is the true spirit of the event, my jeep(s) are always a hack job...

Big 'thanks' Hank

Who's rear bumper is that, Gene?

Aside from yours...

Made a mount for the flag in the rear, so I don't have to stare at it in front all day.

Rev

I got a bike flag, so I jam the bottom part into my bumper trim that goes to the rear wheel and have three zip ties to keep it in place. Quick and no hardware that costs more the 20 cents required.

Got a ton done yesterday.
New front axle is in so that takes the following off my list;
half of regearing my axles, one locker, new brake pads, front bumpstops, beefy steering and a 3/4" spacer in front.

Stuff left; install CB, rear gears, JCR front bumper, paint front wheelwells, new ubolts and center pins and figure out how to remove the damn stock pitman arm that broke two pullers and still wont come off!

Are you using two jaw pullers? My Snap On puller has yet to meet a pitman arm it can't remove. Road trip to Rockford?

They can be a b**** I split a snap-on one just like that and couldn't get it off so i said screw it ad let it on when i had to drill it out for my steering

Finished up the Fuel Cell install today, glad was not procrastinating too much because the starter also died and needed to be replaced. Only thing left on my list is to fix the steering.

Still plugging away!

Not as important as the other to-do-list items but I'm very happy it's done.

License plate holder, sealed, and hooked to the factory power wire.

Packing Wed, leaving Wed night.

Got propane in the camper.
Got the furnace to work in the camper.
Got more grinded up stump cleaned up from where I'm building the parking spot.
Got my spare 35 spline front shafts built.
Got the front end put back together except for diff fluid.
Changed the oil.
Tested an electric heater to save on propane.

Lots more todo, but put a dent in it today.

Amazing what I can get done when I don't have part time...but it doesn't pay the bills.
