What did you do to your XJ today

Its still a Ford. ;-) I can say this I have owned several. The Windsor is a good motor, the Clevland is better though.

So my first day off in awhile and I relized the Plastic diff cover is split on the 8.8 which whoever thought of that is a Dipstick. But the passanger side (right) axle has a bunch of play 1/2 or 3/4 of a inch the (left) has like 1/8th maybe a little more but is not as bad Im new to C-clip axles but I know they have some play. I figure Ill do wheelbearings because its easy and cheap but Im sure it wont fix the side to side play does anyone here know anything about this.Im starting to wonder if I should use this as a Core and try to find a better one.

I CANT TELL...
Are those Bushwacker or Napier?
...either way, looks nice.

Napier, They are excellent!

Just got done cleaning all the residue off from the trim.. What a major PITA. Might trim and repaint and install the side plastics. Now its a waiting game for my front winch bumper.

Lets see, today I installed my alarm/remote start and tinted my windows. It was about 4 and I decided to start to do my JB Conversions SYE. I got the shafts back in but noticed a slight deformation in the pump seal so I ordered a new one. It'll be here Tuesday.

Been a long time from my last post. Due to my health, it has kept me out of the mud or doing any up grades to the XJ.

Anyway, as all XJ's, my headliner was dropping down. I did a search here and found the right, cheap answer. How to take it down, somewhat and paint the sucker. My XJ is a 99 and I have the speakers that are mounted in the headliner at the rear. It just took a few extra sets, but got it done and reinstalled. Took the better part of the day, but was not hard.

I don't know how to post pictures here, but I do have a few.

Next problem I have to do is FIX my dam fuelpump. Dam thing is leaking now. If it is not rainning tomorrow, I will drop the tank.

new guy checking in.. got my radio and on-the-road holster in today. sorry for the crappy phone pic

also started fabbing up a gps mount, will get a pic when i get it finished up

I wanna see more pics of that holster!
NICE!

What a PITA cutting off the old relocation brackets. The botched welds were a nightmare and I ended up leaving some plate up there and cut the rest of the bracket off. It made a nice "sandwich" of the box when I torqued the bolts all the way down tho! I also gained .5-1 inch from the new shackle angle.

This side is the side that is ripping away from the unibody which made the whole rear end tweaked to driver side.. Hope nothing is bent like the shackle or OME packs.

The JCRoffroad nutserts are a lot beefier then the stock ones.

You can see the old V1 Hdoffroad engineering boxes and where I cut them off the jeep next to the new V2s.

I would never ever recommend cutting off the mounts on these that go to the frame rail (like i did on the initial instal) even if you are reassured welding them will make them stand up to the rigors of off roading it obviously is not true.

The "sandwhich" effect is shown here. The outside plate was the only thing that was welded solid so it stayed on, the V2 boxes go inside the factory shackle box so it worked out great actually.

Some hammering and prying and this side was in. I am guessing this passenger side was tweaked toward the frame rail because of the other side being twisted the other way.

All put together.

Much more secure this time around. I am very pleased with the out come of the V2's well maybe mine are like a V2.5 of the relocation brackets with the outer plate on the stock hangers!

Gained a little lift with a better shackle angle!

Mtb Jack... Were you doing this in a parking garage?

Here is what I did today, I finished up my Slip Yoke Eliminator after getting a new pump seal. This was a pretty easy job with the case left in the Jeep. Really just a couple of hours work taking it easy and cleaning up the case half.

haha yes, the grinder only howls between 10am-8pm though. I am going to have to take my roof cross supports when I go to 35's but even then I might not fit anymore.. It helps that I have a storage closet down there too.. I have too much shit tho and should just move into a house! It beats working on it in the street!

got the gps mount finished up.. built it to mount exactly like the keyless entry panel did before it. glad the rig had that option, because i plan on hardwiring the power up there. cig lighter plug was just so i could test the view on it. works well, looks good, and gets it mounted securely out of the way

sidenote.. man i hate this camera. LOL

Rear-view Delete Mod?

Oh I bet the cops will love that obstruction of the view out your front windshield. They can give you a ticket for having just your GPS blocking your view.
