What did you do to your XJ today

found out why it started to run like crap friday, pulled the valve cover (always a pain in the ass) and found the push rods in number two cylinder punched through the rocker arms. lol so i' will replace them and later when i can get to it i will replace the lifters and put a new head gasket in. oh and will get pics up later.

That HAD to have been making some serious noise....

it sounded kinda normal, if you had heard it when i bought it you would understand, rattletrap all the way. here is that pic i said i would post.

Yea thats no good......
wonder what the valve seals are goona look like.
You just gonna rebuild the whole valve train now?

Well went to do some TRE Swapping and realized (again) that my draglink needs to be replaced due to the non-serviceable end that's on it....further solidifying my need to go one-ton. (there is nothing wrong with my links/rods/bars/whatever......just the ends, and since 2 of the 4 on this inverted Y cant be swapped out, I'm screwed until I get all new hardware. (ton tre's and DOM tubing)

Just ordered:
For the Tie Rod:
Moog ES2233L
Moog ES2234R

And for the Drag Link:
Moog ES2026R
Moog ES2027L

All that 1-ton upgrade goodness should be here the 22nd

Next up, Tubing, and track bar relocation bracket.
I was told to go to Team Tube in Portland for the DOM (minimum order of $100 though)
Any suggestions for the bracket?

Ok so long arm kit is installed, new water pump & thermostat. Full engine, radiator flush, twice. New hoses, electrical connection cleaning. Then the sea foam. 1/3rd of the can, than drove it like I stole it. Drives 100 time better than it ever did. Now I need to have the drive line shortened a little and should be all good to go.

Didn't do it today, we did do it Saturday. Although I think there was way more talking than working. We started at 10am and it was finished by 8pm

Does this just slip into the reciever??

I've been thinking if doing the same, was worried about movement without any other bracing. Keep us updated on how this holds up
