What did you do to your XJ today

Ordered a couple of "bolt ons." Thought about asking jeep pox for approval before but I knew he would say I should have built these parts. IM almost out of money but I may spring still for a full spool and install kit for rear 44 and ditch the lsd before nw fest.
Also looked at how im getting my ass kicked in rig of the month and prayed I dont get passed by jeep pox in his all built by his bigself rig.

Changed out my t-case fluid (or what was left of it) put (new to me) shoes on, washed it, cleaned up the fender cuts on the front, and shortened my tail pipe so it doesnt rattle against the tank skid anymore.
Then did a flex test just to make sure I dont rub

Got Busy,
Got some work done today despite throwing out my back yesterday. It was easy stuff and I wasn't rushing things though. Basically got the stripped out Brake Calliper bolt issue fixed for now. Got the transmission filter changed and fluid swapped out for some new Royal Purple trans fluid, which I hope keeps the transmission a bit cooler. Tightened up my E-Brake cable. Tightened all the lug nuts, Greased up some zerks. Replaced my leaky exhaust flange gasket. Cleaned and lubed all the hiem joints. Pressed in new wheel studs to new Yukon rear shaft (trail spare) and found a place for it in the Jeep. Put my Pistons Wild flag on (4x4 Club Flag). Stared at it a while........remembered I had the spill kit so that went in as well. Stared at it some more and thought, boy this thing needs a detail job so that's tomorrows job, time to crawl underneath with my wash mits

Steering will hopefully be fixed tonight while I'm at Woody's 4x4. I'm praying it gets fixed.

Steering stuff. I'm trying to do an hour a day.

nothin much, just got some of the "year old" stuff crossed off my jeep list.

finally made a bracket so i can use the spare tire hold down i made at the polyurethane place,

configured a simple mounting system for my two jerry cans,

installed driving lights on bumper,

and last but not least, installed 6 lights up on the rack.

the lights were given to me 3 or 4 years ago and have been sitting in a box, they guy also gave me a cd player but no idea where that went. not even sure if the wires were there with it.

anyhoo, here's some photos.

the bracket for the tire is moveable as well as slotted so i can move it front to back and side to side.

I like it good looking rig to man. Don't look now but I think someone took your doors though.

Does look good and that is another thing I need to ad to my long list of crap to do to my rig, removable doors for my half doors I'm building.

i lost a nut

Got pretty much the whole jeep insulated and started putting the new carpet in. Yes it is house carpet padding but it works great and is cheap, keeps the outside noise right where it belongs.

That foam will probably melt and burn when your floor gets hot from the muffler and cat. I had melted rubber mat on my rear floorboards..

That was my only concern aswell.. it's cut so uniform, but XJ's just naturally have hot floors

Ummmm..... Didn't you know that after a couple hundred miles or after every wheelin trip you need to make sure you go thru and torque every nut and bolt for at least the first 1000 miles, just to make sure this doesn't happen.

I make it standard practice to go thru my jeep top to bottom to check everything is tight and nothing like this will happen :)

Hopefully it didn't come off at highway speeds, regardless there was probably some pucker factor!!!

ya ironically i probably been driving it like that sence sunday. my steering wheel was cocked to the left so i figured my trackbar was loose again. needless to say she is getting long overdue maintenance and check.

I re-packed my offroad gear into their perspective crates. Rerolled and secured my tow lines. Goos to go to tsf in the morning.
