What creeped you out as a kid?

For me it was the Twilight Zone episode where a kid fell out of his bed into/through his wall – which had turned into a portal to another dimension.
For years after watching it, I scooted waaaay over on my bed – as far away from the wall as possible.

Texas Chainsaw Massacer (sp?) Saw a little part of one of the later movies where he chops up two guys in a Mercedes Convertable from the bed of a K-20 at speed, in reverse. Creaped me out so bad that when we were leaving the house my Grandparents had in Allen, Tx early in the morning on our last trip there, I couldn't sleep in the van till daylight had broke (and that was several years later too!)

the only thing that has ever really bothered me is snakes.... i hate those damn things, they should all be rounded up and destroyed..... and i developed a fear of needles.... movies never really got to me though

Used to be aliens and creatures I read about in books of mythical/whatever creatures. Usually the books that started with vampires and then moved on to all the other things that people used to believe in. Ther was one that would fly in and then suck the blood of weary travelers who sleeping outside, through the bottoms of their feet. I still don't like sleeping with my feet uncovered...

The big honkin' T-rex that swallowed up the camera at the end of the intro to "Land of the Lost". Honestly, I used to leave the room just so I didn't see it......then come back in and watch the rest of the show.:looser:, I know.

clowns always scared the shit out of me, still not a big fan:D and for the longest time i couldnt let my feet dangle of the bed our from underneath the covers

The back side porch window on our 3 story shotgun style house in newark nj, the window opened on a vacant lot. I was about 8 or 9 and was coming up from the cellar after helping my dad clean his .22 winchester match rifle one tuesday nite, he shot on the Ballentine Beer company rifle team. Someone was climbing in the back window and he was a wild looking one. I guess the way I hollerd my dad grabbed his issue 1911, he was in the guard at that time, and came charging up the stairs, he held him at gunpoint till police got there, half in and half out the window, the 12" butcher knife they took off him was anti-climatic. Never liked open windows after that at reachable level. Also instilled in me that if you need a gun you need it NOW and ready to go which is why there is always one within a few steps if not on me.

My mom told me I was superman when I was young, So NOTHING creeped me out!

Two movies: the original version of 'The Blob', and the first in the line of Exorcist flicks.

Also: Jimmy Carter.

Sleestaks :D

God, I'd forgotten about that show. It wasn't so much the Sleestaks that made my skin crawl, but rather the sequences inside the pylons - those circling firefly-type lights would drop down around the person in the pylon, and then the 'JINXJINXJINXJINXJINXJINXJINX' noise would start up as the pylon transported them off to somewhere else... Always made me shudder a bit and I've never been quite sure why.

Night Gallery.

The episode where this guy washes a spider down the drain and it keeps crawling back out. Except that it was bigger each time. Somehow he ended up locked (IIRC) in his apartment by the old lady next door. He ended up being dinner.
I'm still not to cool with washing spiders down the drain.:shhh:

The original Night of the Living Dead and Psycho.
