What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Yeah, I found it on Pirate. I showed it to my wife the day it went up for sale, but it was out of our range at the time. I've been eyeballing it since and it finally dropped enough I couldn't leave it alone. It's got 2 #7000 axles, a 33' deck and 17' camper. I haven't even seen it other than the pictures, but I looks pretty clean. I hope to be picking it up in a week or two. I can't believe I'm gonna put my pile on the deck of something nice.

I hope the old truck can handle it. :)

Oh I am so jealous... I wanted it so bad, but no funds...

Did you see the one that his brother built? At least I think its his brother or borther in law.

Personally the "Mobile Marriott" is overkill for me. That trailer you got Jon is perfect. Thats exactly the setup i would like to run here in the next couple years. Congrats on the purchase, I am totally jealous.

Oh yeah, I just got myself a new trailer too. Not near as nice as Jon's but at least its mine. :D

Thanks. It's way more trailer than I thought I'd ever own and probably more than I'll ever need, but I couldn't build one for near the price. I still have my 18' flat deck for the local trips.

BTW I have the same model house. :)

What, the yellow one behind my trailer? Its not mine.

Is yours a Richmond Home? My side of the street is almost all Richmond Homes, the side across from me is mostly Advocate.

Please tell me you're gonna make sure your tetanus shots are current before walking around that dadgum trailer...... those cracked/torn fenders are dangerous brutha..... the pass. side fender reached out and grabbed my pant leg when we met up in Castle Rock for the Eagle Rock run........ :D

Both of those 5th wheel flatbeds above are the shiznit...... do want!

To save on trailer length and being able to put more vehicle weight over the trailer axles, I'd wanna go this route:

Designed for flat beds. And still totally/easily removeable if you wanted to use the trailer without it. I imagine the floor plan is a bit more open since it doesn't have to be narrow to slide into a truck bed.

This is more along the lines of what I could do within my budget...... especially when justifying how often I'd use it - only 3-4 times a year at best.

This idea intrigues me as well....... popups are pretty damn cheap.....

This was similar to my original plan, but I crumbled and settled for one already built.

The pop-up thing is what I would most likely go with, then I could do it with a longer bumper pull trailer.

I do like that flatbed sleep though, I've never seen those before.

Yup, its a Richmond. Look behind the muddy hooptie.

Is that a Richmond "Maple", Jon -- funny, we all live in different burbs, but we all live in the same house... I'll hold off on what that says about the state of the nation.:laugh3:

 although mine's for sale, so you guys may kick me out of the club.

today, i replaced both ujoints in my driveshaft after my rear rear u-joint grenaded on me at 60mph going down the hiway on saturday night. had to put my trail spair in to get me home.

and i'm in the process of replacing my rear axle with an 8.25 29 spline, and putting an aussie in it. unfortunately, this axle i got from the yard has a limitted slip carrier, so won't take the locker. anyone got a spare 8.25 open carrier I can have (preferably) or buy?

Well you can call me a sheep all you want because I'm not about to grab an axe and start chopping down trees to make a completely custom house on top of a mountain just to make people happy. I grew up in a trailer in Montana, I already did my time not conforming to the social suburbia ideal. It's what my wife wanted and it's 3 miles from my work. That's good enough for me.

Dutch, lighten up, I think Jon's referring to all of us (himself included) that apparently live in the same model home, strewn all over the front range...

No offense intended. We love our house, have great neighbors, and aren't leaving any time soon. There's just a lot of Richmond owners around, including me.
