Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Haven't posted on here in ages. Finally got around to installing a set of rusty's 3" coils, WJ lower control arms, and new upper control arms and axle side control arm bushings. It had been a few years since i installed a set of the axle side bushings. forgot how much i hate doing them! Also recently picked up these 5.9 rims with worn out mt/r kevlars. Saving up for a set of KO2's for them.

That XJ looks awesome!! Just the right stance for me. What did you do to lift the rear? Did you use a 3" Rusty's kit?

The rear is actually the Dorman OE HD leaf and a 1.5" shackle. The combination gave me about 3.5" of lift. I had the shackle and a block with the original leafs netting a 2" bb and a 2" spacer up front. The factory leafs were worn out and the bushings were shot so I just replaced them with the Dorman leafs. I didn't think it would lift it, but it settled out around 2" lift from those springs, which totaled about 3.5" with the shackle. It was raked pretty bad, so I just ordered those 3" springs to help level it out. There might be a tiny bit of rake still, but I'm ok with that. It might settle a little more over time and net me a true 3" lit all the way around

Found an old Compact Flash card in my closet with pictures from 2009-ish... My xj was so tiny back then! And SD wasn't even the universal standard either, but I happed to have an old multi card reader laying around. Look how little my jeep is!

I picked up a 96 Dodge 3500, 4X4, duley, Cummings Turbo Diesel. Changed the oil and filters. Needs some paint, but runs good. Will tow and that's a fact. Lo?

I got tags for my 1988 and now that the column is tight, I'm ready to drive it a bit.

Spent most of yesterday working on the D-60 front for the MJ.

Carmine go the gears close but feels we still need a tad less backlash.

Basically just finishing that and then I will have the u-joints done this week and hopefully by next weekend be starting to get it in the truck.

Will still have to get the axle end track bar mount welded on and the tube ends welded into my new TR and DL but overall it's a total of a 1 weekend project that may take 2-3 more weekends to complete! LOL

Got home last night after 21 days on the road. Good to be back in Tennessee. While I was out I got to ride with the Texas boys during the Rides of March event. Good stuff. I'm downloading GoPro videos to post on their forum today.

I got to drive the new Jeep again today. Need to pull the other 3 out of the garage and get a good look at them. I missed those old hunks of steel....

Past 2 weekends:
- motor mounts
- transmission mount
- transmission drain/fill
- diff fluid change
- coolant flush/fill
- cap, rotor, coil, plugs and wires
- full gauge instrument cluster swap w/ required oil pressure and temp sending units
- clutch fan shroud
- fuel pump/sending unit

To do:
- refresh all grounding points and go over wiring
- front coil springs and isolator
- steering bits (whatever I find that needs to be replaced)
- rear leaf springs and shocks

Seems all of the necessary things for a, new to me, '93 XJ 4.0 w/ +/- 140k miles and sat in the AZ sun for 3 years. This is a 2WD base model, so not a bad first Jeep to learn on.

Drove to Flowery Branch and had dinner with Mike and crashed at his house. Thanks again my friend! Also checked out his dad's shop and the toys there.... nice set up and something to strive towards! Then I went to a memorial service for a past teacher/boss/mentor on Saturday in Gainsville, GA. Ate lunch at a local place called Loco's and it was amazing. Then headed into hotlanta to visit an old classmate that invited me to come visit while I was close by. We went to diner in hotlanta and he showed us around at some sights. Ended up at Smith's olde bar for the 500 songs for kids foundation charity event and saw another classmate perform and drank some beer. Had my limo driver, that's a reference to my other friend, come pick me and D up. We crashed at his place. Sunday we left hotlanta and hit up Athens for an incredible burger at Clocked. Then went next door and bought a couple records. After that we went to Terrapin Brewing. It's one of my favorite craft brewers and I ahve been wanting to go see there place for quite some time. They are a 100 barrel brew system and iirc he said they run 7 days a week. By far the largest brewery of that type I have ever visited. Ended up back how late Sunday. It was a tough trip for me to go pay respects to a man that helped me as a child. The friends and places made it somewhat enjoyable. Thanks again Mike!

Came across some 42.5 Boggers on the interco site today. Thinking bogger rear TSL front. I have the TSL's and would only need 2 TSL's. Anyone know off the top of their head what % of difference in tire you can get away with?

Need minimum of 500 HP for the Mullet combo!!!

My favorite country music singer of all time passed on today.

I'll miss Merle Haggard. I have a set of tickets in hand for his Ryman Auditorium show that was supposed to happen in March, but was postponed until September.

Not sure on the % but Travis (yellowXJ) ran Q-78's on the front of his XJ and 35" boggers on the rear.

Never had an issue. Those are at least 1/2" difference in height out of the box...plus the Q-78's were on 16" narrow rims and the boggers were 15" WIDE ones.

I was going to go offroading tomorrow, so I took it for a test drive. made it 1/4 mile and it died, no fuel pressure. Maybe I can replace the pump in the morning and still make it out for an afternoon

I was going to drive my '88 to work today and let it stretch it's legs but it had a dead battery. I'm hoping that Jack turned on the dome lights when he was with me during the column repair. If that's not it, I'm going to pull all of my hair out (and I don't have too much left up top).
