Walls look great. No scratches or anything. A small and normal ridge at the top, but nothing that is concerning.

.020 overbore, 4.2 crank, 4.2 rods(4.5l budget stroker), pistons, port and polished head, cam, springs, oil pump, machine work............that should do it.

Drove to almost Alabama and back today. 10 hours and 600 miles round trip of driving that started at 5am this morning. Not including Atlanta traffic both ways. Job didn't go smooth either. Called bossman while I was on site and told him what I was seeing and what I was dealing with (asshole customers). He said I did everything I could, but $20 says I still get thrown under the bus tomorrow by him when I get back in the office.

Should have hit me up! I live right on I-20 near the Alabama line sorta.
Tomorrow is my last day at KGB Controls... Probably work another 10-12 hour day and come home to work on this motor.

Yep. You were probably 20 minutes from my house and I work in Douglasville so you were probably 2 minutes away when you were on I-20.

Me too. I like traveling, but the way this company treats/forces me to travel is starting to take its toll.
There's no reason why that trip shouldn't have been an overnight trip, with a hotel room involved.

Got the bottom end back together and the oil pan on. Finally got the rod bearing issue sorted out and all within spec using some plastigauge. Cool stuff. Started to pull the valves out and found some pitting in the head, taking it to be machined and all that this week. Need to order an exhaust manifold and that should be about it other than fluids. Just spent a bunch of money on tools for my new job too. Yay...
