Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Destroyed a perfect grill on my 1973 IH truck Wednesday.

Betty rolled downhill and the air hose grabbed him and took him too. He's ok an the jeep is good. He's a little banged up but considering what happened he got out pretty clean. I'll let him fill in the details if he's like

My New Years wheeling went great.

Air hose? Glad he is ok. Glad he could get some help.

he was filling a tire and shut the jeep off....which turned off the electric line lock

he's about as lucky as that guy i know who shut his jeep off in drive and ended up with 43 sx tread on his shoulder....

That really sucks for Tyler. It sounds like a bunch of our guys didn't have a very good New Years Day in some form or fashion. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I love reading the updates on the new MJ and watching it come back to life. Very cool rig and good to see it wheeling again. Did Nate or you finally upgrade from the 260X joints? I know he blew 'em both in Harlan one year.

crap happens....btw i love seeing your updates. that's a way cool ride you're putting together.

Thanks Doug,

I need to start a build thread over on Binder Planet......since it is an IH it really doesn't belong here, ha!

It will be ugly, but my NY resolution is to get an IH going again and make the trip to the IH Scout & Light Truck Nationals in Ohio this August. I still have a soft spot for IH iron. I'm going to try and talk Mark into going with me.

Yeah he replaced both of them with 760 joint shafts... In fact I'm pretty sure one of them is my spare that I gave him when he busted both shafts on mason jar.

I beat it decently hard on New Years. It held up pretty well. I'm sure the fact that it's way lighter than an XJ helps out a lot.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm doing a lot better now. What really happened is Betty got tired of my aggressive lovin' and decided to turn it around on me. She's good to go other than needing a 75 cent fitting & 5 minutes worth of labor... I need multiple doctor visits & numerous weeks of heal time.

I went to a minute clinic on New Years day & the Dr there took X rays & determined I had fractured my right radius next to where it meets my wrist bones. He put me in this huge temporary cast & then advised me to go see an orthopedic doctor about it. This morning was the first available appointment so I was there at 7:00 am. The specialist looked at my x rays & decided that the "crack" we were seeing was more than likely just a growth plate & in his opinion its not broken. He also noticed that 2 of the 8 bones in my wrists had fused or grew with a defect when I was born. So I have 1 big bone instead of 2 smaller ones leaving me with 7 bones in each wrist instead of 8. Both wrists are this way.

So my official injuries are: minor sprain of left wrist (feeling better every day), major sprain of right wrist, bruised right shoulder, broken left pinky toe, broken left big toe, and a busted face. All of this happened with one fall.

I'm lucky I didn't get run over. It could've been a very bad situation as I was on the trail by myself. I realized I had made a horrible mistake as soon as I turned the key off. But at least I dont have to worry about fixing the jeep though. Hopefully I'll make a speedy recovery as I have lots of work to do.

Getting the display stuff ready for Judy's debut at the world of wheels next weekend is going to be tricky.

Damn Tyler, Betty don't play when she aims to injure! Glad you're alright dude!

Hopefully you're all healed up when you're in town for the 50th Anniversary event come April as well.

Looks like we both learned a lesson this week about wheeling on our own. Glad to know you are going to be ok, Tyler. Heal up!

Would anyone be interested in coming to windrock Saturday the 18th? It'll be my first Saturday off since October and I figured I'd go wheeling

I won't know my work schedule until I get one, but I'll try! It would only be a 3.5hr drive for me :).

If I don't drive it off a cliff before then yes. The rocket is staying in Cary momentarily.

Well probably be going with the local crew, it's a pretty good time. We could do the the long ride out to the flats. It's not too technical, perfect for the mj.

I've got trails for everything... Ugly truck don't care
